Does this pack the bearings with grease? Never seen one like that before.

 

Where in southern vt? Just nosy because I grew up in the south eastern part of the state.

 

Supposedly. I've never been a fan of them personally. Hard to beat a good hand packing. That also makes you remove the bearing so you inspect other things as well. Something like the bearing buddy I see as being good for boat trailers where the axles are routinely submerged and you need to purge the water.

 

Maybe I'm old, but I don't get it...

I love bearing buddy's, nothing easier than fitting the grease gun on and giving it a few pumps to make sure your not running them dry. You still can (and should) take them apart to inspect and grease them regularly.

 

Well I think my truck needs a new battery... Thinking of getting an xs power branded battery. I had one in the evo, let it sit dead for 3 months through the winter and put a tender on it and it stilled cranks fine. What's everyone else run?

I replaced the one in my wifes car with a Motorcraft from the dealership. The 1st one went 6 years without a problem and plus believe it or not were the cheapest place to buy one

 

When I worked at a parts store that was the part number for a 99 inch lawn mower belt, lol. Somehow I don't think that's they're referencing.

Exactly. You still need to do an annual bearing inspect with them, but the bearing buddy's make so much easier to routinely add fresh grease throughout the year. Going on a trip? Just add a few pumps to be on the safe side. Just put the boat in the lake? Add a few pumps to purge any water that got in there. Haven't moved that trailer in a few months? Add a few pumps.

 

Yeah the bearing buddies are awesome. I hit the zerks on my boat trailer once a week in the summer since I fish like 3 days a week on average.

 

Same here. From the PO records it's going on 6 years now.

 

Jealous. I live on a lake and don't get out close to that much
