Severe Weather thread.

Couldn't do it. I get bored really easily, so miles and miles of flat would drive me crazy in no time flat (haha bad pun)

 

Nasty storms moving through.

 

Alleghany plateau is not so good for blocking storms coming from the west. Have fun, hopefully nothing too severe.

We should be getting some of that system soon, luckily we have the Appalachians to the west to calm it down a bit.

 

I got this warning at work. 8" of rain! I grew up in that area. Very hilly (is that a

word?) The Black Earth creek will flood with only a inch or two.

 

I took this video yesterday as a severe thunderstorm rolled through. Our power was out for 3 hours complements of the 60 mph wind gust. We did not receive any hail from this storm but got a lot of much needed rainfall. It was neat to see the clouds movement. Filmed with GoPro Hero4 Silver. Be sure to watch in 1080p.

In Baton Rouge this morning.

 

I was there last weekend overnight. Down in P-cola until mid-July. We had one roll in last night that was crazy. Group of us were out and grilling and looked up and the sky was pitch black.

 

Really cool clouds there!

 

Clear rotation in this one currently.

 

We are under tornado warnings for 5am, not looking forward to all the wind damage tonight. I went out and bought fuel for the generator earlier today just in case.

 

BAD one here in Ohio ..

 

Not as clear of rotation while watching it move. But you can see it starting to "hooking".

 

Not looking forward to it at all.

Glad it didn't hit your house. That shit is scary. Absolutely no control in that situation. Just have to ride it out.

I know what a Derecho is. Never experienced one (Not sure). I'm in Southern Wisconsin right where that red blob starts. The storm Sunday morning broke a good size branch off a tree right in front of the house.
