One of the biggest complaints I remember reading when the 3rd gen was announced was not wanting push button start and key less entry. I remember knowing then my '14 was going to be toast soon.
    Seems people are coming around.
For me, I like all the tech the 3rd gen has to offer. The 2nd gen was out dated in 2005 when it came out.

For me, the '14 I bought was a mistake. I've already forgot about what that mistake cost me.

We bought it for 10k plus taxes in 2003. Completely bone stock all its life. I sold it for 1800 bucks after 145k and the coils were going, all the struts were shot, paint was flaking off, etc.... Then got the Tacoma a month later

I bought it for 3k in 2012 I believe, I upgraded breaks, a CAI, good tires, lowered suspension lot's of little things. Then rebuilt head, lasted for 3k miles decided to rebuilt engine started smoking really bad after 5k miles. Was really tired of it! Sold it for $3000 saved it for my down payment on the taco. Walked into the dealership and a couple of hours later :burnrubber: (not really because i got an automatic) lol:mudding:

Wow. This was my first vehicle purchase and I put down half that I had been saving since I was a kid doing recycling with my grandma. I drove that Nissan for 11 years. Got me though high school, college, and my first years of my career with only a dead battery and a dead crank position sensor.

My mom saw it in the parking lot of the Harbor Freight a couple months back and sent me a picture

I like the stamped TACOMA on the tailgate. It makes the truck look hardcore :benchpress:

It gives me peace of mind as well because of my son. He loves the Taco and likes to hangout in the bed. Great addition to a great truck.

The steering wheel is comfortable. The bumps at the 10 and 2 position and the control layout is muck better than my '11. The steering itself is even better.

I like the storage cubby under the climate controls. It gives me a place to put things.

I like the bluetooth for talking on the phone. It sounds nice and people can hear me when I talk to them.

    How's that for random.

    Hi Z50king,

This is my first truck and new car and loving everything about it. Got it a couple months ago and have a little over 3k miles on it. My girl friend and I do a lot of camping with our dogs and I was looking at your bed tent. What kind is it? Do you like it? Any suggestions for these? I've never had one or seen them in person, but the idea has always appealed to me.

    Thanks!

I like that my SR has a radio that I can upgrade to an aftermarket Android Auto unit. Toyota flat out said they will not be utilizing Android Auto or Apple Car Play, so the TRD and Limited model owners wont be able to upgrade to a better system because of that slick looking glass dash.

The backup camera is nice and bright. Way nicer than the one on the 2013 Terrain. The Bluetooth system is nicer too.

This is the route I went. Didn't need or want all the fancy Star Trek stuff on/in the dash.

Love the tonneau cover came with the truck
    Color keyed over fenders.
Silver Sky Metallic is moody and dynamic.
Hood scoop grows on me. Wasn't sure I like it the first day I took her home.

Do you need to know, or care?
I really like the back-up camera in the dash compared to my Gen 2 one in the rearview mirror. Much clearer and covers my entire cul-de-sac in vivid color.

Napier 57 series. You need the model that is made for narrow beds in 5 or 6 feet. Do not get the Tundra model that most outdoor stores carry. I know the 6 foot is 57044. AutoAnything has the best deal on it when you can find a coupon on their home page. I got 15 or 20% off, I forget which.

Also, I suggest setting it up at your home before doing in the dark. I set mine up for the first time around 1am at a dry campsite and it took me almost an hour because I had it in backwards for the first few tries. It's a good tent

I like that Toyota has a sense of humour on how the window lock affects the drivers controls too. Embarrassingly brilliant comedy of errors.

    +1 for Toyota.
