Do you have the archive garage kit? How'd your resting shackle angle turn out?

Any suggestions or lessons learned on the rivets? Angle grinder, step bit, and hammer?

Hmm interested in what your set up will look like after its all done. Based on FJ and Tacoma forums they appear to have excellent reviews!

Better to ask what I have not done.
Step bit will suck trying to drill out those rivits. Either take a dril bit set start at 1/8-3/16 and then work your way up an 1/8 at a time or take an angle grinder and if you can get to them grind off the head and knock them out with a hammer but bed sides will be in the way of this

I use the plasma cutter and cut off the heads then take an air chisel and knock them out and if they are stubbern take a mini sledge to them.:luvya:

I also soak the whole shackle plate and rivits with pb blaster a few times a few days in advance and that will help the rivits knock out.

No fancy air chisel or plasma cutter, so I'll be grinding, drilling, and cursing.

There's no way I am letting someone else have my fun on this one.

My kit was from armored tech off-road.

Best thing to use if u don't have a plasma is angle grinder and air hammer/chisel. If it was for the air hammer we'd probably would still be there and I did this 3 years ago

The angle of the shackle is fine. I used the stock shackle.

These are what I'm looking into, but probably won't be for a year. I'll keep you in mind though.

Turns out the BP-51 kit I ordered was the 1 and only ToyTec received. Talk about perfect timing.

Springs and shocks are going on Saturday if I don't tackle them tomorrow or Friday after work. I have all the tools and parts I need for that, and know what I'm doing there.

The shackle flip may wait as I'm pretty sure I'll need longer brake lines than my wheelers +2"

After some thought, I'm going exercise some patience, learn from past experiences, and take the advice of @wrmathis and @3378jakesr5 and get an air hammer. I've learned having the right tools makes life a lot easier. They aren't that expensive and it's time probably I invest in a compressor and some basic air tools.

Posted this up during Rock Therapy when the forum was mostly dead, and I was busy and on the road as well.

But, anyone interested in sharing a house? My lease is up the beg. of Oct and I want something with a 2 car garage at least. But it'll hurt to spend $2-2500/mo for something when I'll only use half of the 3bedrooms it'll come with and be gone half of the time.

I'm looking to stay west of Denver, in the Golden and surrounding areas; slightly into the foothills would work as well.

I'm sure I could, but you're supposed to run it with a tank to do air tools.

I have a buddy back east that said he was going to put a forester suspension on his impreza to lift it. I don't think he ever did though. I'd like to find a wrx for a daily and possibly lift it.

That's what I used on mine. However we did it without the engine running since we were next to the exhaust. So after a while the battery would die. Had to jump truck off and let it run then Repeat as necessary.
