You guys recommend a stereo shop? Thinking of getting new speakers, a 10inch sub and an amp. Nothing crazy but getting tired of the stock sound.

Seems like too much time and I hate dealing with wires.

 

I upgraded my head unit a few years ago but now with the new iPhones I feel like I need to upgrade it again. Id like to upgrade my speakers now too even though the JBLs are to bad.

 

I think I'm gonna keep the stock unit For now. I plan on upgrading my wife's 4Runner head unit so she can have bluetooth.

 

hey guys. been lurking around tw for a while. (while=months.. maybe half a year). finally got the courage to post up on the SGV thread. (courage=golden road: wolf among weeds IPA <mucho>). i need to start spending some (non-existent) money on my truck (2015 DBLB).
The first thing I'm going to spend money on is sound system. This is the only car i have and i spend hours in it on my long commutes. I had a camry before this car (used) and had 2-12" (MTX) in the trunk. enjoyed the bass, but sound quality wasn't fair (stock radio/stock cabin speakers). been saving up for a sound system.
Thinking about getting a full set up from *********.com. Need a full set up because loud bass isn't going to cut it. i need an aftermarket head unit and new cabin speakers. i was thinking about running a dual battery set up (isolated), getting a kenwood 900's head unit, and getting a SQ1 from *********.
i know you said you don't like messing with wires. but maybe take a look at *********. and save some money even if you're going to spend a grand on labor for an audio person to install it. (I'm going to try to install it myself)... when i finally dish out the cash... and find the courage to wire everything...

Also, depending where you live. there's a guy who own Noise Kreations in Alhambra. He's got really good reviews.
i went in for an estimate.

JBL front speakers
JBL rear speakers
JBL tweeters
Audio processor (i told him at that time that i wanted to keeep the stock head unit)
Sound matting the entire cabin
JL audio 400W amp
JL audio 600W amp
JL audio 12" wiht stealth box
All the wiring and install for:
~$3,500
about 900 was labor. Sound reasonable. He seemed like a really nice guy. It looked like his only profit was going to be the labor.
but i'm cheap and felt like i could install it myself.

so if this sounds good to you. you might want to check this guy out as well.
