Yeah it's not "surprising" to me anymore but it still sneaks up on me sometimes how sore I'll get from 2 hours of pickup games. I've learned to not do leg day the day before bball day and stretch as much as possible before and after. I played AAU ball (national competitive league) until I was 16 and had to get a full time job. HaHa but the same as yall, I used to run track, play football and basketball and still had an excessive amounts of energy. Now my stamina still hasn't left me but I get old man capital letters sore if I don't stretch good after and warm up good before. Compression knee sleeves have really helped me with the warm up process.
Yeah I forgot about mma. Those dudes are in crazy condition. But it is a different type of conditioning. I did a 6 months class of kickboxing and I could go hard the hold time until I got punched in the rib cage by a dude 60 pounds heavier then me. I found out real quick I had never trained my body to fight. Haha even with being in great shape and having tough abs and obliques, it's completely different and obviously takes a lot of work to condition your muscles for that kind of punishment.

When I joined a flag football league last fall I couldn't walk up my stairs the day after for the first couple of games. Hip flexors apparently never got worked in my previous programs in the gym so I added stuff in to help hit those so I wouldn't be so sore.

I used to play bball a lot more often (my office campus has courts) but then I started working from home so I never make it up there to play. Today was a rare day that I had to go in for a face to face meeting (didn't even know people still did that. Just call me bro...) so I went in early to play with the morning crowd (they play again at lunch but not when it is 100 degrees outside like today). When I played more often I would rarely be sore but I still would tire pretty quickly after a couple up and downs. After today my knee and ankles are pretty beat up. I guess from all the jumping up and down. The ball did get wedged between the rim and backboard once and I jumped up and knocked it down. :bananadance:White boy got hops ya dig?!

I joined that softball league this spring and it took me a while to get accustomed to sprinting the bases. I think every sport works your body just a little different.

I prefer weight lifting but it is still fun to play team sports too.

Softball is a lot of fun if you can find a league

    Lemme get those too :fingerscrossed:

I like that split. I can only go 4 days a week, so I flip-flop between an upper/lower split or chest/tris, back/bi's, legs, shoulders.

Yeah, when I wrestle with my cousin, I'm so fatigued like 45 secs in and he just man-handles me. Those dudes are intense.

Can't even sort of match up to some of the guys in here, but someone requested it once upon a time so here goes... Cutting progress. Started at 216lbs in February, 186 as of today. Plenty to go, but making progress! Apparently summer has given me a bit of a tan too haha.

Figured I would share a bit of a program I've done to build strength. It was on bodybuilding.com, but shown to me by a coworker. It's a 10 week program, the first time I did it, I built about 25 lbs into my 1 RM. I changed it up a bit second time through (adding my own lifts), and improved 50 pounds that time.

    first 5 weeks:
    Bench Press: 5x5
    Incline: 8x3
    Decline: 8x3

    *Dumbbell Bench: 8x3
    *Incline Dumbbell bench: 8x3

(can do one handed or both, I switched off)

    Incline Fly: 8x3
    Flat bench Fly: 8x3

    Dips: 8x4

cool down: 60 reps flat bench bar only (20 reps close grip, 20 reps reguar grip, 20 reps wide). 60 reps incline (same setup)

Week 6-8: flat bench switches to 3x3. All other lifts remain the same (8x3)
Week 9-10: flat bench is 2x2. All other lifts remain 8x3

As I said, I've done this program twice in the last year. The first time, my 1 RM went from 275 to 300. This second time through, it went from 290 (had dropped a bit) to 350. I applied it to my other workouts as well. For shoulders, I'd do 1-2 main compound lifts in these sets (I chose overhead press and dips). For back, It was pull up (strap on weight) and bent over rows. My 1 RM on overhead press went from 175 to 225. Bent over rows are over 330 (never did a baseline), and 1 RM on pull up is bodyweight + 100 lbs (strap on 2 45 pound plates and a 10).

Just thought I'd share with y'all who are looking to put up bigger numbers! If anything, it was a great way to break through plateau's. After I finish it, I do 3-4 weeks of higher rep stuff to rebuild muscular endurance.

Dang. Heck of a transformation. I'm jelly. I'm in the middle of one of the worst cuts I've ever done. Started at 209 and am only down to like 196-197. Goal is 185. I've gotta get stricter on the weekends.

So I had to run by Wal Mart this morning before the gym. It is only a mile or so away from the gym (which is only a mile away from my house). Figured I could take Mr. Hyde then go up there and get to the gym before the power of the pre hit me. Well, I was leaving Wal Mart and it hit me. Nothing worse than still being on the way when it hits...

Get out of my way, I'm losing gainz!

I took my preworkout yesterday when I left for the gym and then stopped to talk to a guy about his Audi (bagged on rotiforms and damn was it sexy) but like midway through the conversation it started to kick in and my speech sped up to where I probably sounded like a crackhead.
