First post here but have been reading a lot. Despite some of the horror stories, I'm still thinking about buying a '16 Tacoma. I was hoping to reach out to some of you owners for suggestions so I can get the most for my money. Some of my confusion lies with the different packages.

Below I have put a list of what I would like in the new truck, some items I can only get in one model truck and not the other. This is where I need to decide to go aftermarket. As far as what I'll be doing with the truck, mainly commuting to and from work, hauling my dirtbike. I ride a lot of off road but on my bike not truck. However, I need to do some off road driving to get to my parking spot.

    Options I like:

    -Hood Scoop - get Sport
-Leather - LTD only, but I see some quality seat covers out there (Clazzio's)
    -Sunroof
-decent stereo - how is the JBL with subwoofer?
    -Heated seats
    -backup camera
    -towing capability
-Wireless charging sounds cool, but is definitely not needed

Thoughts on these accessories, are there better aftermarket options?

    -Predator steps
    -Tonneau cover
    -3M Paint protection
-Bed extender - this is a must for my bikes, but better options aftermarket?

I feel like the Sport is the better pick for me and add leather seat covers. Any suggestions pertaining to packages etc would be greatly appreciated!

And oh yea, color! I have it narrowed down between the Magnetic gray and White. I think the White looks cool if I have enough black mixed in for contrast, otherwise may look too much like a work truck.

Buy the truck, you will love it. I have a Sport AC with the premium and tech package, tonneau cover and Predator steps.

I liked the look of the Sport more which is why I went that route. If you like the limited for leather get it, but I like the Clazzios better then the factory leather that only comes in brown, all your other likes are the same as mine except I have an AC so no sunroof.
I have the Predator steps and like them but could live without them, lots of better looking options out there.
The tonneau works great and is really a good deal considering what some of the other covers cost.
I never had paint protection on a vehicle, not sure if I'd ever need it.
Skip the bed extender and get a long bed. I can't even count the number of times I see people with things hanging out the backs of the short beds on here. I can't see much use for the extender since a couple straps will do most of what I see people using it for. I have a bed divider that works the same inside the bed to hold things but it's adjustable, compact and removes in a couple seconds only taking up a couple inches in the bed.

Cool man, definitely helps hearing you like it! I've had sports cars most of my life but now life has changed and seeing more of a need for a truck. I saw the Clazzio thread on here and they look sharp, so I'm sure I'll go that route and stick with the sport. I thought about the long bed, but I wasn't sure if it looked a little off with the double cab. I'll have to compare the models in person.

How do you like the JBL stereo, do you have the one with the sub?

What ever you do when you pick it, don't wash it or look at it funny.

It'll void the warranty and cause unicorns to die.

Other than the U-joints I've had no issues. I like it, you will too.

Doesn't the trd pro come with the hood scoop and leather?
I am buying a trd pro 4Runner and it has both. Might be worth looking into.
And the jbl is worth it in my opinion

Good call, didn't even think of that. However it's probably going to cost more than I'd prefer to spend. Do we have any idea on the price of the Pro Taco yet? I'm imaging close to 40k.

Btw, how do you like the blue Moab? Have you gotten tired of it at all? I'm stuck between white, magnetic gray and blue.

I'm sure the pro will be mid $40k's
Base price on my trdp 4Runner was $42,750
I love the blue I just don't like my Tacoma lol. I was one of the unlucky ones to get a lemon so I'm dumping it 6 months and 10,000 miles later.
