There are a few things you need to agree on.
    Religion
    Money
    Family values
    Children

These are just broad topics but if you can agree and work together on them then you'll be in good shape.
My wife's extended family has about 20 marriages between her grandparents all the way down to her cousins. There is a theme in each one of these marriages. Being on top of these 4 things I mentioned, keeping God a permanent fixture in our family, having strong relationships with people in our church, and keeping my family and my relationship with my wife the most important thing second to God. There's a good reason why there are so many divorces. People are too selfish and pretend that they are God. I would strongly recommend financial peace university for you and your girlfriend. It will cover these topics I've mentioned. It is a great tool for being used as pre marriage counseling.

If the numbers were actually broken down and showed Christian homes I think the numbers would surprise you. It is in our selfish nature to forget about others and do what feels good.

Hope it works out for you. Married 10 before being divorced. Throughout the marriage there were some potential game changers that she never revealed - starting with the ungodly abuse she suffered as a child...I knew nothing of any form of abuse until after she mentioned divorce. Resulting from that were a few suicide attempts. Also discovered hidden conversations. And then there was the affair where she was caught fucking a married man.

You may think you really know someone, but you don't.

It was some seriously fucked up stuff. Its a wonder she is a functioning adult after all the abuse, rapes, beatings, etc. But she NEVER told me of any of it. None. That's why I'll never get married again. Never.

I've been with my wife 10 years we dated 5 and now married little over 5 and have a 9 month old!!! I like be her to death and we get along very well.... now saying that.... a baby CHANGES EVEYTHING!!! It makes even the easiest things stressful!! He is amazing and she's an amazing mom!! But holy moly is it rough when we were so set in our ways!! But if we had a kid any earlier it would have been even worse! You have to totally understand and trust one another! RESPECT HER
