Just out of curiosity, how is a situation handled like this when a patent (assuming you have one of some kind) is infringed by an eBay seller? Standard law suit?

The fact they interrupted a Rubicon trip for this is astonishing if they're on really Rubicon right now. If I ran a company I doubt I would.

Unless I missed it somewhere in the thread, have any of the members who actually talked to the company on the phone happened to ask where these bumpers are made. Assuming they aren't Chinese seems like a good deal. Carry on

Doubtful that AP spent the money for a patent lawyer and actually has the design patented. So best they could do is probably send a BS cease and desist letter to the seller, which would probably be ignored.

Sucks there isn't more design protection like that, oh well. Sounds like its part of the business.

I don't want to know how All Pro personally conducts their business in regards to this, that's obviously quite personal to them. Was just wondering more general in terms of truck armor, since it seems a lot of products are very similar and I bet things can get tricky.

So. What about those knockoff yeti tumblers everyone ir raving and mouth breathing and buying all walmart has.

I bet some of these naysayers here are included.

Does it suck for @allpro? Sure. Do you have to buy the knockoff? Absolutely not.

I am lol at people calling it Chinese pos etc.

tumblers yes but the ozark coolers are a joke compared to original. Such is the nature of the business world we live in. If the op and others make out with a decent comparable product that would be great for them and sucky for others but who cares. I have the rear AllPro bumper and it has served me great, the powder coat has been holding well against some of the shit i smacked it on. it certainly is a quality product and some of the other products i have from them. Their service is great and definitely took care of me when i had some issues - which at the end of the day sent me back to their product. The rear bumper pricing is not all off compared to AP but the front is definitely the bigger saver, would be interesting to see a side to side comparison.

Aside all of that it comes down to quality and customer service. Ebay is notorious for fakes, I have been a victim of a few transactions but ebay is good at protecting buyers - however this is not the case for that specifically. As long as people come out with a physical product all the power to them.

I am still fairly new here so I probably don't have the "cred" to inject my opinion here... But I will anyway. :D
I am not going to criticize anyone for wanting to save money on truck parts. I have a spreadsheet of items sorted by need, want, nice to have, and the last category is "in my dreams"... Removing the last category, the part cost is well into the $2500 range for the parts I am partial to. The front bumper in the OPs post would literally drop that to $1500. Nothing to sneeze at. I don't like the rear though - I already have decided to install the body armor rear bumper (another brand that some have criticized, but I have the side steps and think they are great). If that means I have to include "poser" in my sig line, I'll be very disappointed because I haven't gotten that vibe from this site.

+1 for a spreadsheet, I categorize mine similarly as well, haha.

It's not the majority of the site, some people here get their buttons pushed by a variety of things. We are all posers to someone else. End of the day, honestly, who gives a shit what others think/thought. This isn't any of that "fueled by hate" bull, but its your truck, do what you want.
