Talked to the shop again. We talked about the problems and its agreed that something is wrong. Truck goes into the shop next tuesday to get the valve cover pulled and get a better idea of what might be wrong. 3rd times the charm, right?

If it is a big problem then I will tell him to douse the truck in gasoline and burn the damn thing to the ground. It is obviously possessed.

    Nooooooo

I'll take the rolling shell. V8 or boosted v6 will be great!

Lol, if this engine never gets worked out, I will gladly tow it to powell and leave it with you for a v6 or v8 swap. Deal?

Atleast all this work is covered as far as costs go. It sucks to have the truck down though.

Did you get that pipe bender? Assuming the truck gets back to normal, the rear suspension needs work...badly.

Lol, land cruiser alt died today I think. Started fine, went to Kmart for carpet cleaner. Battery sounds weak when I start it in the parking lot. I go a few blocks and I hear it struggling to run. I pull off the road ans it dies as soon as I let it idle. Battery is dead and I can't start it again.

I have my gf come with jumper cables, start it, drive a block and dies at a stop light when idling. We started it one more time and I drove it to a good spot to leave it over night. Going to yank the battery and put it on a charger over night through tomorrow and then try and get it to a shop. I have a really busy next couple of weeks so I dont have time to work on it. Gonna call the engine guy to postpone babyT's work until the cruiser is moving.

A huge thanks to @Member1Zillion with hometown garage. They got the cruiser up and running strong again. It did end up being the alt that went out. The belts had been a bit loose and squeaking before taking it in but that was also fixed in the process.

A bit of an update. Dropped off the truck last night. Hopefully this will be a quick turn around and finally done right. I'll keep everyone posted as I get updates.

I had a good 4th. I got to visit with my nephew for the first time in 2 years (he's 3). My father dropped off the Harley that I inherited last December (1981 HD Sturgis). And the gal and I took the inflatable kayaks out to the lake to paddle around and see if I could get Ash to be able to sit in it. It took a lot of work but he seems to enjoy being out in the water. Gonna be interesting trying to fish with him in the water though

Have you thought about getting a pullout motor from a wrecked truck, might be easier since most of them are trouble free.

Oh, maybe he'll keep boring it out for you and you'll end up with a 3.0 I4 hot rod
