    New to the site, could someone please tell me hot to advance the timing on my 97 5lug.

    The timing is completely controlled by the computer. There is a timing mark on the pulley to manually check it with a timing light, but there is no way I know of to adjust the timing like on older cars where you can turn the distributor to adjust timing.
