More shit then I ever planned on doing
I took my 4yr old there last Saturday and was gonna stay the night but the people camping next to us weren't exactly the highest class of people so I decide it was best to drive home.

Boo! Damn them for killing a kid and dad trip! :jerkoff:

I remember camping every damn weekend in the summers with my parents! Leave Friday when pops got home from work and return Sunday afternoon.

the spot I was at was prewitt ridge
it is national forest so camping anywhere
    no fees
    pack in water
    no toilets
there is some dispersed camping fire pits and picnic tables
you should get a fire permit if you don't have one
    http://www.preventwildfireca.org/Campfire-Permit/
I would also bring wood for a fire since it is slim pickings out there

    trail head coordinates are
    36.009440, -121.452521

    and the campsite coordinates are
    35.9711973,-121.4514206

if you plug the camp site coordinates in to an iPhone (I don't know what you have) it will give you 2 directions one is shorter
the longer one goes down 101

    take the route down 101
even though the other route is shorter it is false
I went that way (on accident I wanted to take 101 cause I had friends that had never done it) and you get to a trail head that is a great trail with a few decent water crossings but you get to the top of the mountain and there is a locked forestry gate about .8 miles from the campsite so you would have to turn around and go back down and around

    so take 101
also it is about 40 miles from a gas station (that is about $5 a gallon) to that campsite so I would fill up at the chevron just before big sur it is on the left hand side of the road I forget how far that one is but it is the cheapest

None of the friends I was with or myself had cell service so take that into account
    pack in water

The trail is a few miles long but takes a bit of time also it isn't that difficult of a trail
my buddy has a 2003 Toyota camera that made it (it scraped a few times but still did it)

Once you are at the ridge it is beautiful
it opens up and if you look down to the left you can see a big rock with trees that looks like an amazing camp spot
it would be but it is just a wind tunnel through there I would recommend looking for a different spot but once you are up there you can see a ton of great spots

    Word.

But he's kinda choosy on miles.. I'll be headed to Tahoe the weekend before July 4th, so I can probably grab something through town on the way up or way down.

Does anyone know where I can get the nitrogen in my kings checked? My 4yr old decided to take the valve stem cap off my resi and I'm not sure if he let any air out.
