Adding power

Actually a few people here have hacked together a custom harness and shown that, as long as the wiring is right, you can make a UCON work on any 2nd gen. Please, continue

 

Pretty much the same with all "performance" threads on here. 4.0 IMS threads, tooter's big fat whopper of a 2.7 IMS thread, etc. You can bring up any dyno graphs you want but a certain guy in here will just insult your intelligence.

 

You're pretty thick aren't you? Maf Calibrator works for all years and splices in to the ECU with a few wires, all the rest of those mods bolt on to 2015s. So go ahead and keep trolling. It must be rough when everyone says you're wrong, and you just keep on truckin'

Aside from your quote of mine I had unsubscribed from this thread, it's full of real butthurt and I'm not gonna try to get into pissing matches with guys on here.

 

Yeah my bad guys, I posted solid proof of gains on any year tacoma with bolt on mods and a MAF calibrator (Which I have for sale btw! PM ME) and yet...I'm wrong apparently. Weird.

 

Keep laughing. Tooter was able to move his torque curve lower with an aftermarket muffler.

All good man. Honestly though you can get small improvements from several mods that some people normally would laugh at to hit that 10% threshold where it makes a difference. People have done it without modding the ECU on both of the engines in the Tacoma. Now when you add the UCON to that, yes you get the maximum benefit, but you don't need the UCON to move the power around and gain some to the point where you will feel it.

 

I am thoroughly enjoying my JBA shorties. These naysayers can say what they want.

Or you know, it could be because we value the thousands of dollars of work we have put into our engines that most just talk about. Whatevs though .

On a side note I did catch my wife filling the Tacoma with 87 when she wasn't paying attention. I always keep some octane booster with me though so no biggie. I kind of wish, in a sick way, I would of tried running 87 for a bit and seen how different it feels. You know, right before I break something with a few misfires or go into limp mode.

 

Yeeeaaaaahhhh probably don't do that.
