Does King make a rear shock without a resi? For the life of me I can't find a place that sells them if so.

Gosh dang it. Thank you. I'm thinking the 2.0's are gonna be more in my budget. Guess I'll give them a call when I'm ready.

They only list factory replacement ones with resis (pt 25001-153) on their website.

You're absolutely right. I'm getting it realigned and was going to drop the shock collars a turn or so before I did. Thanks man.

I would be wary of "factory replacement" shocks unless you're confident they're the exact right length.

Rear shocks can get tricky for our trucks. Don't spend the money on high end shocks unless you've measured. Especially with custom leafs like Alcans.

Problem is going with a universal shock to get the right amount of travel you're probably going to have to make custom mounts. And I'm pretty sure that's more than JKO is looking to do right now.

Putting Kings on stock mounts seems like a huge waste.

If keeping the stock mounts, just get some Rancho's or 5125s in the right length until you're willing to do it right.

Do it right as in weld a new cross member thing and different mounts on the axle?

Do it right as in break down your leaf pack, cycle it, measure travel from full droop to full bump, buy appropriate length shocks, and mount them in a manner that they work in conjunction with your full leaf travel.

So yes, that would involve a new upper and lower mounting location.

Oh, and setup bumpstops should be in there somewhere as well.

I'm not going to spend another 300$+ on fancy bump stops, just going to do wheelers super bumps. I guess I'll just have to see, I don't think I'm a hard core enough off-roader to worry about cycling all the way through the suspension, just have to see

Doesn't matter if you're hardcore, I blew the first set of rear 5100's that were recommended with my tacomas AP standard springs just going in and out of my driveway. Every truck is different, a lot of people get away with not measuring the spring cycle ok. However it's worth the time to do it so you know and can avoid wrecking perfectly fine shocks.

I was going to use a jack and compress the spring to the bump stop and take the completely compressed and extended measurements. That's how I was told to do it anyway.

Pretty much. That will work but won't fully cycle, you really need to remove all leaves but the main one and cycle it then. That will get you a good idea though
