But to anyone not from NY, anything north of the teal area is considered 'upstate'. It's really just a way to make sure the rest of the state doesn't get lumped in with the godforsaken infected ass pimple commonly known as NYC.

i don't know anyone that uses "finger lakes region" unless they're like "yeah i'm going to the finger lakes this weekend." everyone from buffalo, rochester, and syracuse says upstate

 

So where is White Plains NY in this clusterfk?

Ha. I grew up in one of the northern-most parts of the North Country. Drive a few miles north and I'd be in Canada.

 

Just seen this glancing through made me laugh. I lived in Niagara Falls/Buffalo area growing up and we said we said western ny. Best food in America. Took me a little while to figure out not to say I live in New York cause people always assumed the city and my city friends always called everything up state. Now that I moved back to Hawaii I call it south Canada sometimes lol.

 

Hey yall starting to check out travel trailers. Anybody have any recommendations. Planning on buying in fall. Currently eyeing the Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup

The last TT I had was a Forest River and it was well constructed. Only one warranty issue and that was with the gas valve. Nothing with the trailer, I would buy one of theirs again

 

I have a friend that lives in Plattsburgh. Where did you grow up?

 

I guess that's going to have to be up to you and the sales rep at your local bike shop. I woudn't buy the camber personally, at that rate I'd just buy a fat bike and really save the weight. I've never ridden in those areas so I'm not sure what the trails are like.

For what it's worth, my friend had a Gary Fisher rumblefish (really a Treck) that I'd put on par with the camber, he bought a fat bike for this season and hasn't ridden the rumblefish since. Before the rumblefish he had a coil shock/ totem Yeti (cant remember the model) that was a hefty bitch and he hasn't looked back since. Sure that bike floated over everything, but it was a bastard to climb with. So take that for what it's worth, if you're just doing single tracks in state forests. Another plus for the fat bikes is you can go in the winter depending on how ambitious you are.

 

I regularly visit Albany, but haven't been to any other parts of NY.

 

I believe if I'm reading it right that the Camber is 120mm and the FSR is 140mm so they are both in the middle travel range. I am just wondering how they compare as far as climbing and descending.
