275 vs 285's on 16" with 3" Lift

Finally got my 3" lift, and now it is time for new tires. What are your thoughts on a 275 vs a 285 BFG KO2 on Method 16" on a 2016 TRDORDC, specifically with the other tire specs (70 vs 75) , etc? I am doing moderate off-road, but it is also my part time daily.

Falken Wild Peak AT3's have them in a standard load and they are awesome tires to boot!

I don't think KO2's come in a 16" 275

You don't have to. But ya gonna rub it when OffRoad.

 

So even with a 2in lift up front you would still rub the cab mount? I'm just curious because I was planning on only going with a 2in lift up front with 285/75/16's and I already have spidertrax on there. I do wheel and a little rubbing is ok with me as long as it doesn't break anything.

 

Yep. Peoples with 3" of lift still rub the cab mount.

 

The cab mount doesn't just rub it can take big chunks of the tread off, fyi

 

Thanks for letting me know I guess i will add that to the list of things I need to do.

 

Regardless of how much lift you have, you'll still rub when the shocks compress. Static height is fine, but when you go over bumps or offroad, you're going to compress through the shock stroke and rub.

 

crap, that sucks. I take it the 285 is as tall, just wider, right? Perhaps I will need to also consider Toyo's

 

@tripleseven . I originally went with a 275. However, after the lift, i didnt feel it filled the wheel well enough. I sold my 275 bfg ko2s and went to a 285 cooper stt pro. I was extremely close to hitting my cab mount however i was rubbing it. even at full stuff. With that said, i did do my CMC because i would rather not risk anything. We take the truck offroad almost weekly.

Unfortunately, going 17"'s is not an option. Will explore the 255/85/16
