I've been looking into lifting my 1998 extended cab 4x4 tacoma. I want to go 5100s all around but didn't know what springs to put in the front... i like the eibachs with the 3 inch lift but i have the 3rz so will the ride be to stiff? What about the ome 881s?

im in your same boat were pretty much screwed with the 4 banggers we gotta get the coil over kit and get 550 pound springs to not make it ride like a rock.... its double the price of a normal lift big bummer

I've got the 4 cylinder and 881s in the front but with ome shocks, it rides kinda rough but it's not unbearable

What about the ome lift kit? Toytec has it on theither website and you can chose the 881 coils. Would those be as good as the 5100s?

I called them the only springs they make for the truck are the red coil over front shocks and you change the rate to 550lbs and you will be good I was thinking maybe getting a heavier lift and putting a bumper on the front but I can't decide if I want to do allllllll this and not have a TRD..... so I gotta put a rear axle or LSD I got a lot of stuff to think about but I know that would work with the regular 5100 lift with there springs 200$ cheaper, honestly the only thing from me not putting a rear axle in my truck is knowing exactly what gears to get and how to wire lol I really need to find someone around LA whose done it before so I can pay them and learn and do it with them, but honestly a lift with just the front coil overs eating the 900$ after shipping or so and have some nice front shocks... Even though when I called they told me the coil over set up they have is just the 5100's with a custom plate they made!!!!!!!! $200 for absolutely nothing more than a CNC machined plate Probably 35$ plate when they order 500 and they go like hot cakes ...

Thanks for the reply. I don't know if I'm willing to drop that much on just the front.

I found a link somewhere about the 881 springs and I've read there fine ... And there set to 502lbs Spring rate, I'm going to buy a used pare for the front and I'll let you know how they ride probably around next weekend

Looks like you also have some weight up front though from your avatar pic, which helps with those springs. Not sure that the OP is in the same boat.

What kind of lift did you get from the springs I'm thinking about pulling the trigger now, is your truck a 4 banger ?

springs give 3inches and if 4 banger means 4 cylinder than no means a 6
