I'm about to pull the trigger on a magnetic grey Sport. I can't decide if I should do short or long bed. I will be hauling my dirt bikes so the long would kinda help but either way I'm going to need the tailgate down and end up with a bed extender.

Does the short cab "look" better than the long in your opinions?

The short beds look strange to me for some reason. I much prefer the look of the long bed.

Weigh the pros and cons for your situation:

Is the long bed going to keep it from fitting in your parking spot or garage? Is getting the long bed going to make you have to wait an absurdly long time for the truck or something? Etc.

I went with the long bed cause I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

After ridding my 03 TRD Prerunner earlier this year, I never felt so naked without my truck. Alas, I am once again a proud Taco owner with a huge upgrade!

Just took delivery of my MGM SR this week. Got a great deal as well. They are a great value.

My daughter had a two week road trip from Phoenix to Portland planned for a year.

Her A/C quit working in her Explorer last week and she talked me into letting her take the Tacoma.

She sends me pictures along the way:

It's all personal preference! I'm opposite of Bounty Hunter, I think the long bed looks too long on this truck. I have the short bed. I'll try to roll my dirtbike onto the back and see how much it sticks

I agree, short bed is the way to go. I don't use mine for work or to haul really anything other than the occasional road trip. IMO the truck is on the narrower side so the long bed makes it look funny. Like said though, all personal preference. They're awesome trucks either way.

I had to park beside the Ford. I choose wisely.

The bed of the Tacoma was designed around the long bed configuration. The body lines of the long bed are basically chopped off on the short bed, so to me it looks like it was done in a fabrication shop or something. I think Toyota should have given the short bed it's own proportional body lines that aren't abruptly cut off near the cab. Also the front end of the 2016 is longer than the gen 2 so to me the short bed looks non-proportional. Just my opinion. All good-lookin' trucks IMO.

Just got back from my first road trip. Christened it with some good Colorado dirt. No four wheeling yet, plenty of time later for that. Averaged about 21 mpg overall including a lot of mountains.DSCN1715.jpg DSCN1751.jpg DSCN1748.jpg
