Want to know what psi peeps are getting with the black 2nd gen charger on the 3.4?

I search and couldn't find boost levels....for stock to 2.2 to 2.1....and so on.

Just installed the 'charger. I have the stock pulley and all the URD fuel mods. Upon initial driving around town, I have floor'd it merging onto highway and only seeing just a tad over 5 psi.....not even close to 6 psi.

I guess it was hard merging into traffic and watching all my gauges at once, but i don't think i was redlined.

Shouldn't the stock pulley run about 6-7 psi?

As for the truck.....180k, charger....dunno how many K's on it....gotta ask the seller again on det one.

    thank you TW.

I was getting about 6.8 psi on the stock pulley at 5000 feet. Would be approximately 8.3 at sea level.

I get 7 psi flooring it with a completely stock setup, no fuel mods (hopefully soon). Only issue I seem to have is I dont see any boost in first gear before I need to shift to 2nd... :notsure: Think it may have to do with me having stock copper plugs because I'll also get pretty bad spark knock from time to time under full throttle esp in high gear/lower RPM

Just threw my stock back on and was getting 5.5 psi (~6.3 at sea level).

Well, i dunno if being at about 900+ ft above sea level would affect it that much, but i hope its making good boost.

Flooring it, boost gauge reads just at about 5psi.....not to redline yet and on 4th gear. (5mt trans).

Strangely, i bought the urd 2.2 pulley and it does not fit. <<< i would LOVE to put the 2.2 on but it wont work on my charger. I just wanted to see if anyone else has this problem; gadget's been super great and allowed me to return it. (two thumbs up!).

So comparing the stock to the 2.2.....the stock rear part of the pulley where it is pushed back onto the shaft, has an ever-so-slightly taller "seat" area, whereas the 2.2 doesn't. so when the 2.2 is torqued onto the shaft of the nose-cone.....the nut purddy much just fastens the pulley onto the nose cone, not allowing the pulley to spin freely. Because the stock has that "seat" area on the back, when pushed back and torqued onto the nose-cone shaft......it allows the pulley to spin freely.

I just wanted to see if anyone has ran into this with any pulley other than stock.

    thanks again TW......thanks. again.

My shaft has a single spline on it which holds the pulley.

Yea, im still at just a tad over 5 psi wen i floor it on 4th gear merging onto freeway.

Im just thinking, could gearing have anything to do with it? <<< im 5 spd manual with 4.88 gears.

Could it be that the powerband is so efficient that the charger doesn't "need" to boost much, therefore, not creating a lot of boost? I notice, especially on 1st and 2nd, im not even in boost at about 2-2.5K rpm, then shift into 3rd gear.....i can kinda hear the charger kick in but the boost gauge only reads about 1-2 psi before i need to shift....then on 4th (if i really stomp the skinny) i can hear the charger and its making boost.

    stock pulley, by the way.

i'll try and post up pics about the pulley issue.

I have the same issue, I don't see any boost in first or second (I can get it in second if I really mash it, but not very much).

I've been wondering all along if this is normal s/c behavior on our 1st gens or if there's an issue? Glad to hear I'm not the only one though, lol.

I can hear the supercharger whining in first, but no boost. What kind of plugs are you running? I got mine changed out when I bought the truck and didn't know at the time that I should be running platinum plugs and not the stock copper ones, so I'm going to change those out soon and see if that helps. I'm wondering if it's a fuel issue and it's not getting enough fuel to make boost from a stop. I've also heard that the 7th injector could help, too.

If there not enough engine load the supercharger will not make boost unless you are going up a hill which will put more load on the engine and it will make boost. So pretty much if you are part throttle and on a flat road, there really no engine load

Cool thanks for the info. I should also mention, I never push it past 3k rpms, maybe 3.5k if I'm feeling frisky. But anything over that just makes me nervous, I know 5.5k RPM is redline and I'm not near that but nonetheless, I want this motor to outlast me.

Videos I've watched of guys running the 3.4l TRD supercharger all tend to show them revving it all the way up to redline or close to it, so maybe that's why I'm not seeing full boost potential in lower gears, I'm just not pushing it hard enough. In which case I'm okay with that lol.

yes you will see boost when you are towing, because that a lot of engine load
