mine are 21 and 25 now, but I know how you mean. when they were 13-17 or so they had so much attitude it was annoying. both are in university, the older in graduate school, getting science degrees, and doing really well, so its all worked out.

Fowtee-won! I just felt really uncomfortable spelling that incorrectly. That's how you can tell I'm old.

Side note: I did a MTB race in Angwin about 7 years ago. Another rider crossed the line 0.25 seconds in front of me. He placed 17th in the 40-49 group. I placed 7th in the 30-39 group. a 50-59 guy passed me with jean shorts on! The point is... I'm fucking slow. Older people are faster... at some things.

Heck I wish I had a Tacoma at 19 ... I was still driving craigslist Camaros down in Monterey back then.

But good knowing I'm not the baby of the group!

I rode in the MTB race at Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz last month. I did beat just one guy, and he was probably older than me. He was wearing Carhartt shorts and work boots, and riding a rigid bike with lights and a rear rack. I was on my FS Carbon 29-er. I'm old and slow. But having fun!

Damnit. So long story short we think the 1 year old got some laundry detergent on his hands and maybe rubbed his eye around 6ish last night. Weird thing though is that he was fine until about an hour later or so when his eye started getting super red, but he could have just been rubbing it. Flash forward to about 10PM and he wont stay asleep, take him downstairs, the kids eye is swollen and red and looks like possible allergic reaction. Asked the wife if she had flushed his eye out in the bath like we discussed she said 'I splashed some water in his a face a few times' (dontgetmaddontgetmaddontgetmad) so I was able to get him under the faucet and flush the eye a few times kinda, Emergency room basically said flush the eye, if its not any better by 24 hours, come on in. We ended up getting a Visine bottle that the Wife had just used up and filled it with water and flushed his eye some more. He slept through the night for the most part with a few wake ups, eye is still swollen about the same as 8 hours ago but he doesnt seem like hes in pain, playing with toys just fine, but then gets cranky suddenly if toys dont work. Wife wants to go to Urgent care, I say go. Im stuck at work, this blows

We had a similar thing happen. Dude caught a hard poke to the eye. Got red and puffy but didn't seem bothered by it. Next morning still red but better. Advice line said if he seems irritated by it or is sensitive to light bring him in. Eye got redder outside so we took him in. Ophthalmologist looked at it for 2.5 seconds and said he'd be fine. Then sent us a bill for $105. WTF does insurance pay for?!?

Anyways if your little dude doesn't seem bothered by it I wouldn't be concerned. Keep an eye on it (pun intended). I hope everything's all good!

Awesome, thanks for the tip! Urgent care is only a $25 Copay on my plan and Wife is pretty upset about it. I actually think it might be an allergic reaction, I told her to get some kid safe antihistamine and give him some and then head to Urgent Care when they open at 10 if hes still bothered.

And she just said she doesnt have any and its nap time lol. Oh well.

Anyone ever been to Lassen Volcanic National Park?

Considering a small road trip and maybe some camping in the next month or so. Wont be doing offroading or crawling or anything but still looking to get away for a bit.

I've been to Yosemite but the lady hasn't, I'm not sure how crowded it is these days either. But I'm not native to Nor Cal so I didn't even know about Lassen...
