before I do, let me know if there are any other components I should consider replacing. Mostly street, some trails and a lot of camping. Going for 1.5-2in with 5100s and a single aal. Ordering from headstrong offroad! Using stock springs.

    are these necessary?

ubolt flip, new bump stops, ucas? Don't want to break the bank right now but also want to do this right.

None of those are "necessary". You should have about an inch of rake with a 2" lift up front and 1.5" aal in the back.

ok thanks. I'm actually looking to be level or slightly higher in the rear? Doing a lot of camping this summer and fall. Trying to decide what setting to put the front 5100s to have a smooth ride and moderate lift

2+" in the front with bilstiens via compressing the springs and smooth ride doesn't really go hand in hand.. Factory rake is about 1 1/2" to be level with bilstiens and a 1.5 aal you will need to put the bilstiens at there highest setting to be close to level. But you can bet your ride will suffer. IMO

hmmmm dont want that to happen. Might have figure something else out. Was hoping to go .85 up front and a single AAL in the rear to keep the stock rake, or close.

.85 wouldn't be as bad. Is that a 1.5" aal? I would think that would equal more rake then factory.

yes it's a 1.5 deaver but apparently it doesn't get that high on a double cab long bed. Gotta really think this through.

What constitutes a nice ride is subjective. I've heard plenty of people say the ride is rough when using 5100's on stock coils @ anything above .85". I have stock Offroad coils, @ the 1.75" setting with a 2" single AAL in the back on an Access cab. The ride is definitely firmer, not as plush. But that's the way I want it. I'm also on P rated tires, so that kind of balances out. I see your on BFG LT's, but also have more forgiving Sport coils, so that may balance out as well. As far as height, with a DCLB, I think 1.75" up front should get you ~1.5-2", and like you said, your likely to get ~ 1-1.5" with the 1.5 AAL in the back. Which should give you a 1" rake (as has already been stated).

I'm looking to level out a 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport that has had the rear leafs replaced under the recall. I plan to use 5100s up front on stock coils and not touch the rear for now as I'm on tight budget. Which setting should I put the 5100s at to accomplish this?

The .85" setting should gain you ~1" in the front, which should have you @ ~1" higher in the back. The 1.75" setting, should gain you ~1.5"-2" in the front, which will put you somewhere from level to slightly nose high. I had mine @ 1.75", with just the new factory leafs for a month or two, and measured @ dead level on all four corners (when measured from center of hub to bottom of fender). However, when measured from the bottom of the frame (under the cab), the measurements taken at the rear of the cab, were slightly lower than the measurements at the front. I think the arches in the rear wheel wells go higher than the fronts, which would explain the measurements.

You want to use the .85, or second lowest notch on the strut tower.

There is more weight on a long bed, so the AAL may not give as much lift, but you might have to give it time to settle to get it to level out with the front.

Looks like all you will need is the front 5100 struts, rear 5100 shocks, your AAL, new u bolts, and an alignment. Things you may want to consider is new strut bushings in the front, wheelers sells this in a package deal, others do as well. Another thing you may want to do is lubricate you alignment cams while your front end is apart. Make sure you mark the position of them with a paint pen before disassembly. If you need further detail on that, let me know and Ill give you a step by step. Also make sure you know the torque specs on everything you're disassembling. A Haynes or chiltons dumby book is worth the $20 for this info.

wow great info thanks. I will definitely tale you up on that step by step for the cams. No rush probably a few weeks out. Will invest in that book as well. You think I'll be fine at 1.75 up front or go lower?

Great thing about those struts is that if you need to go higher or lower, you can. I think you'll be good at 1.75 and an AAL.

886 on a prerunner with no weight up front will be a very...firm... ride.

    Here's my $.02
On my access cab, I got over 2" of lift with 5100s at the 1.75" setting and the ride is really pretty good - firm, but absorbs bumps nicely. I would suggest that even though you're a DC, not having a front diff and such, you should end up somewhere around the same height as me. You could do 1/4" spacers to get just a little extra height if you want it.

886's are a higher rate spring than the 885 or 887. They are TOO high of a rate for 5100's. 886's will overwhelm the 5100's rebound dampening. This will give you a jackhammer effect on bumps. Most vendors will not sell 886's with 5100's for this reason. 885's and 887's are the same rate, just the 887 is 5mm longer. 886's are the same length as 885's but a much stiffer spring. 886's are for trucks that have heavy aftermarket bumpers, winches, and skids.
