Not sure about where the guy he bought it from bought it. Corey will tell you later I'm sure. He is putting a lift kit, ect, ect, ect, on his truck today. Sure he will post lots of pictures of it also. I can't wait to see it lifted!

Finished off the lift last night. Deavers 1.5"-2" AAL and 5100' with OME 888 coils up front. Hope the front settles some as I didn't want to be level.

I can't remember who but somebody has posted pics on this thread of a tailgate mount on a 3rd gen. They used one of the generic mounts slightly modified and it looked very nice.
I contacted BAMF to express interest in their tailgate antenna mount for 3rd gens. JLee got back with confirmed one is in development but might be a few months. I'm waiting for BAMF since a CB is more of luxury than a necessity for me.

Great lookin Taco. How stiff is the ride on the 888s? Doesnt look like you have any extra weight in the front.

I've only put about 10 miles on it with the new setup. Its pretty stout thou. Doesn't seem to be to ruff, however time will tell. Ill post again after I get more miles on it. Going to a local offroad park tomorrow that is about 100 miles round trip from me.

Before I get peeved at the service department, is this the right bolt for them to check the ATF? I know it says "CHECK" but I just wanted to make sure. And, as you can see, I marked it and it doesn't look touched, even when I told them it had to be checked manually.

Shout out to San Antonio. You built me a good un. Got my Limited 4X4 and it is a keeper. Drives great, tight and quite. I've been on 50 mph max roads only so far but even though I've been punching it with ETC off/on and getting 19+ mpg. I'm familiar with the different shift points. We have a Toyota/Lexus NX that has a Eco-Normal-Sport dial. Eco setting you have to press a little harder to get up quickly but even my old legs are up to the task. All kidding aside, it drives as good as that Lexus and you sit up higher and see more. No excessive wind or road noise. ATM seems to be shifting correctly (note: haven't been on Interstate yet; such is the Beach Life). Will check zerk fittings but not worried about ATM fluid level at this time. Like I said, I've just driven it from Pensacola to Orange Beach (30+ miles) and around Orange Beach for the past few days but so far I've been more that pleased. My 2001 Tundra with 300,000+ miles still drove great but this the best ride yet. The NX was a first year model and has had nothing that needed fixing etc. I'm thinking this truck is going to be just as good. I never even took a test drive in a Tacoma (I knew what I wanted) so I am pleased to be pleased, tickled to be tickled but since it is a Toyota, I'm not surprised. And a big Shout Out to Bob Tyler Tacoma in Pensacola, FL and the salesman "Koray". He gave me the best deal from Georgia, Mississippi, Bama and we looked a bunch. Plus he ordered and got me exactly what I wanted. So why did I post under "What have I done to my Truck today". Well I've spent 3 days admiring, enjoying and appreciating this good, good truck. BakFlip, Letters for tailgate, rear window bar, Husky Contour floor liners and several other things ordered and anxiously awaited. I might keep this one 15 years (like the Tundra) and like the Tundra pass it on the one of my sons as a yard truck. For my needs and expectations the Tacoma is perfect.

    .
Shifted the automatic gently through the gears today for first time ... it was kinda like a floor mounted paddle shifter.

I am getting to like this truck more and more each time I drive it.

OME kit with the 888's, and Total Chaos UCA's are on. Those upper control arm bolts were a bitch!

It's hard to tell from the picture but are you missing a spacer on the back side of the front flap? I thought yours looked different and finally looked at mine and there is a spacer on mine. Also, I hit my hardware with a shot of plasti dip and they don't stand out so much.
Nice write up and love the flaps myself.

Anyone have experience with AMP power side step on a 16 crew cab? Wife has a hard time getting in and the factory side step bar doesn't help her at all. Thanks
