Suggest you contact ScanGauge and ask them. Maybe you need an upgrade to get them to work?

Haven't had a chance yet, ended up having to push my trip back. I'll have some numbers in the next couple weeks. I'll post them up as soon as I've got them.

Without towing I'm seeing TF2 read pretty stable at 190 with TF1 typically 2-5 degrees less (interstate at 70-75 mph). Right after I got off the interstate I did see it get up to 199 briefly. Around town I'm seeing 180-190 on TF2.

I think someone had asked about GPH too, I'm seeing .25-.35 at parked idle.

Yeah I guess i'll have to but I just bought the ver 4.13 ScanGuage yesterday specifically for the Tacoma as the other gauge I use in my car so not sure what it could be updated to as it's brand new.

To the folks who have these XGuage codes for transmission temps working could you post what version firmware your ScanGauge is running, i'd appreciate it! TIA

Qjake...I went out to the truck, started it, waited for the ScanGauge to initiate...and then realized I'd unplugged it yesterday to plug the Nationwide Insurance OBD tracker in to see if I can lower my insurance rates. I'm getting a splitter on Monday so if no one has responded before then I'll check again. I looked back a few entries and Glacierbird reported that his was upgraded to 4.11 and it worked.

BTW, RPM's definitely don't have any effect on my readings.

Thanks! Yeah I saw that V4.11, and now V4.22 are working fine. Since I have V4.13 you would think they would work for me.
I just filled out a help ticket on the ScanGauge site so we'll see what they say tomorrow.:fingerscrossed:

Good luck...frustrating when you buy something for a specific purpose and it doesn't work.

Did about 50 miles so far today with my 7x14 aluminum haulmark. Trailer is just under 2,000 lbs empty. I've got it loaded with furniture and household stuff (moving). Towing around 65 on the interstate I never saw TF2 cross 192. TF1 was usually at 190.

Put it in S4 and truck does great. Didn't have any issues maintaining speed up hills and averaged just over 10 mpg according to the dash display. I added sumo springs a couple weeks ago and after getting some miles towing with them, I highly recommend them. No adjustment, they just work. Truck still rides great and isn't nearly as bouncy with weight in the back or a trailer. For people who only tow a few times a year, this is an excellent setup.

Would you need helper springs if you use a weight distribution hitch.

Did another 75 miles or so and TF2 got up to 194 (outside temp was up to 81 from 70 this morning)

It's probably more personal preference than any thing. I've been down some roads here in the Midwest that are pretty bad and have bottomed out the suspension, especially with weight in the back end or pulling a trailer.

The sumo springs aren't actually a spring, it's a replacement for the bump stop which is closed cell foam and progressive. Quick easy install and pretty cheap compared to other solutions like airbags or replacing suspension.

Do you notice the Sumo springs when the Truck is empty?

It seems to ride the same as it did before when empty. The only change I've noticed when empty is it seems to stay flatter through corners, which I really like. While towing or hauling I've noticed a big improvement in ride and handling.

Can you use the Sumo Springs if you already put on a add a leaf?

Trips to Home Depot for home reno projects squashes the back.

Even loaded with camping gear I noticed sagging.

I would imagine so. The sumo spring mounts in place of where the factory bump stop is. There's a picture in the towing thread I believe of what it looks like mounted and compressed.

This thread should be renamed the "Sumo Spring Thread" FFS!

Just finished towing about 230 miles today. The highest I saw the transmission temp get up to while on the road was 195 and that's with an outside air temp of 90 degrees.

I guess I should note, I have had the dealer check and fill my transmission fluid (it was .6 low). So all these numbers I've provided are based on a confirmed proper fill level.

I stopped by their office today to get the update. The nicest people you will ever deal with. Got the update, installed the codes and they work great!
