Haha, yup, it's a fine looking lawn ornament. Actually it's sitting on the carport with the rear end on jack stands right now. Imma put the axles back in tomorrow and hopefully she won't decide to crap anything else while parked in the driveway for a while.

especially since Natty, our new 3rd gen 4R, would like some carport time too.

 

@Taco No Baka yea Lee that's neat video you put together and I'm sorry for offering my help the other day knowing I had to work and not being able to assist you guys. I posted and spoke to soon.

Bought it from @SpruceTaco . It's in decent shape. A few minor defects and some preventative issues (gonna replace the radiator since it's unknown how old this one is and I'd rather not end up with strawberry milkshake syndrome...) but yeah, it's very nice. It's even green so it matches the OGT.

 

Haha, it's not a problem, Jim. We got it done. Philip ( @taco8603 ) save our arses big time, though. We'd have probably still been hauling tires one at a time from the body shop to Rick's house, not to mention it took all three of us to break the single lug nut loose on the donor vehicle at the junk yard to get the tire off it, haha.

 

I like the 3gen 4Runner. I have a mint set of OEM 16" alloy wheels from that generation 4Runner up for sale. Good luck with the new ride. Sounds like a fun project!

Haha, I've been forbidden to mess with it.

Wish I had the cash, I'd get them from you and have them powder coated either anthracite or black to replace the current set (also nice looking 16" aluminum factory wheels), but alas, I don't.

Thanks, let's see what happens down the road with the wheels. Maybe we can work something out. It's a bummer they don't fit the 2nd gen's. I picked up a set of the other 3rd gen 4Runner Wheels that are 5 spoke in hyper silver that do fit. I've been wanting to install these older style wheels since I owned my 09. I know black wheels are popular but I like these. Just need to pick a tire. Here's a picture of the 5 spoke.

 

Okay, yeah, those (in the picture) are what Natty is sporting. I like the design, but I want to delete all the chrome and silver off her. I'm probably going to commit a mortal sin and see if I can find some anthracite colored wheel paint and paint them. If I don't like that then I'll probably just go with a semi gloss black. Gonna do the same for the chrome on the bumpers...either that or I'm going to try to find a rattle can of Imperial Jade Green and color match the bumpers.

 

Sounds good, they've come a long way with the automotive rattle can paints. You should have no problem finding the color you want.

 

You know, that black chrome stuff might not look too bad either.

 

Well, the OGT is back together. It might be just me, but she seems to ride smoother now. We'll see how long it takes her to crap another part while sitting on the car port...there's still one wheel bearing left I haven't replaced yet (Driver's front).

 

Sounds like a good report! Everyone's truck is work in progress. My next upgrade is the AAL and rear shocks and tars. Glad the OGT is rolling Smooth!

That approach angle though. I'm actually gonna take the grille off and use a dremel to make a hole about the size of the controller plug on the lower side of the grill. Thanks god it's a satoshi grill. I'll post up a pic. Todd did a killer job.
