Yup, ARE Z series... And I paid $450 off CL too. Had to drive 2 hours to pick mine up though. Got it color matched and I installed Yakima tracks and crossbars last month... Love it!

 

How much did you pay for the paint job if you don't mind me asking?

Appreciate it... I said $400 a couple posts ago. But I went back and checked and it was actually $500 to paint it.

Does anyone know how the adjust the latch on the caps glass? I can still open my tailgate with the cap shut. The tailgate rubs the seal of the glass a lot when trying to open it but you can pretty easily open the tailgate .
Better yet, this is my first cap ever so is it supposed to be like that?
Maybe I should get a pop lock too.

 

From that pic you posted earlier, and it may just be the camera angle but it looks like your cap can move forward more.

 

I'll have to check it out here in a little bit but I think you're right. It does hang over the back about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. I've never really paid much attention to truck caps and how they fit before.

 

Ok, here are some pictures I took of how my cap is sitting. I tried to move it back more but it wouldn't budge.

 

You will have to loosen the clamps first and then try and move it. You said you tried to move it back, towards the tailgate or cab of the truck? After you loosen the clamps try and move it towards the cab and before you tighten the clamps down check the operation of the rear window, tailgate, and check the gaps around the rear window.

 

I tried to move it towards the cab but I was trying by myself and it wasn't moving. But I did loosen the clamps. The only thing I can think of that's stopping it besides the weight is the rubber weather seals. Speaking of seals the one at the cab was torn when I got it and hanging inside the bed so maybe that is keeping towards the rear more too? Idk, I'm taking it off Monday for paint anyway so I'll inspect the situation better then

 

After you get it painted take it to a camper shell dealer and have them reseal it for you. I had mine done, they stripped off all the old stuff and put all new stuff down cost me $45 and about an hour of my time.

 

Sometimes I adjust mine by getting in the back and lifting from the center with my back against the ceiling. I just straighten my legs and it pops right up ad I can move it forward some.

 

I was just going to suggest the same thing, @ERMB. That's how I did it.

Had my snug top for about a month, love it! Since I have a fat Chocolate Labrador I ordered the "pet guard" in the slider opening. They work great!

 

I use to do it that way as well, then I had a back surgery and a knee replacement over the years and I can no longer do it.

 

What rear bumper is that? CBI? Or All Pro?

 

After endless craigslist searching I finally found a shell for my taco. Color is close enough for $175. The shell hangs over my tailgate by about an inch but I think I have it pushed as far forward as possible. Inside the shell on the tag it says it's for a 2005 EC/DC SB, is the extended cab/double cab bed longer than the regular cab bed? My taco is a 2011.

 

It's the contours of the cabs that are different. Look at the gap between your cab and installed canopy. See how that gap narrows at the top.

Basically, the rear portion of your single cab is more squared off at the top and sides of the cab than an AC and DC cab - which are a bit more rounded.

On an AC or DC the above canopy would be able to be able to slide forward by an extra inch, plus whatever.
