    Engage the seatbelt behind you.

Thanks, I am going to try the ODB2 and app and see how that works. Only my last few vehicles there was always away to get it disabled by tapping brakes, pushing buttons, clicking and unclicking seat belts etc. I see the second gen Tacoma's had a simple disable but couldn't find it for the push button start 3rd gen.

    Sounds fair,

When I can trade and get a 2016 I'll be doing the same thing. It's just great to not have any noise from the seat belt system.

I hear ya. I just click mine behind me when I have a short distance to drive, no chime.

I took mine to the dealer and they turned off all the beeping noises except the one that chimes when you open the door before turning the truck off they said that one was not customizable

The dealer should do this without a Fuss (no "we can't" or "Toyota wont let us" or it will cost $$$) and you don't need an official reason. Anything less than a free-disable ( I suppose they may charge you if you scheduled this and only this, as I had mine disabled during a service appt.) is the dealer playing around. Butler Toyota, Indianapolis disabled my seatbelt chime, upon request, at no charge and with no hassle. You DEFINTELY should the dealer do this rather than tamper with the system yourself, or waste money on silly seatbelt-dummy-clips. Even if it means an inconvenient drive to the dealer. Doing it correctly is worth it.

some dealers will not do it and state liability as the reason, that is just a fact what they say, weather they should can be discussed all day but will not change what some dealers say. to get more in the weeds let's say you do get yours disabled and in a few years you sell the truck and someone gets in a wreck not wearing the seat belts and it is discovered that the warning chime has been disabled by the previous owner, might come back to haunt you, think i would have it re activated prior to selling. yes toyota has it in the book that it can be deactivated by the dealer but i also understand the liability point the dealer like mine told me and refused to deactivate it. i just got the gizmo shown at the bottom of this page and moved on, if i sell it they come out.

Dealer did mine, but put up a bit of a fuss, with the normal "well, I'll have to see if it's possible", but lo and behold it was off for me when I took delivery of my truck.

My dealer refused to disable mine after saying they would. I disconnected driver side and just fasten seat belt on other side when I get to first gate at hunting ranch or have something heavy in seat.

Has anyone been able to successfully disable any alarm buzzers on 2017 with carista or another app? I emailed carista and they told me that 2017 wasn't supported.

It's on a Toyota form. And straight from the inserts manual that the dealer will do this. Bottom of page 4.

My selling dealer did mine at delivery, no problems no charge. However if your dealer is out of touch or somehow scared I would insist on having it done before you close the deal that's the only time you have any leverage.

Thx. Called the dealership and asked them to do, but did discover I can change some things within the vehicle interface.

When the seat belt warning starts to beep push the red seat belt release button once and it will stop beeping the light on the dash will stop flashing but will stay illuminated
