Thanks for all this great info @Gramps! For now I'm planning to add a spacer to the bump stop strike plate on the frame to bring it an inch closer to the bump stop.

Here's how it looks with the shackle in the foremost position. I think i want to either drill my own holes, or have it welded just a little further forward, to get my hanging angle closer to 90 and resting closer to 45. My back end is definitely higher than I'd like to be.

If you have new springs, they'll settle and reduce the angle of your shackle, and the height of your rear. I like the angle of your shackle more than mine, my shackles are closer to 60* at ride height.

I think the angle looks fine. Like BRT said, they will settle.

Appreciate the feedback guys. I won't make any adjustments yet...it's just too good to be out from under the truck today and I'm eager to take it out and play. It was a hell of a lot of work but I'm really happy with the end results.

Is there anybody that has a proper spring compressor. I remember a few moths back with a TW group I went on a trip with somebody had theirs done at a members house. I just bought heaver spring and need to trade them out. Beer will be supplied. ;)

A small handful of select mods.
Or you could shorten the shackle a bit but yeah your angle is a tad off.
That is a good point about the springs settling. Yeah I saw your resting angle at Corey's and it looks like that shackle hanger needs to move back to the last hole to big thr angle up a bit.

So my passenger CV has a bit of grease sprayed around as if the boot is torn, but I see no tears or cracks on it. Its all near the end of the boot closest to the knuckle. Its not a ton of grease, but enough that there must be a tear somewhere or its sneaking out from the ring. Guessing the best plan of action is to pull it apart and put a new boot on it?

Any guess on price, time-frame for them fixing it? Without a garage or second vehicle, not the easiest solution.

    run it till it blows!

    IMO of course.

they will click on hard turns loudly before they blow up.

the biggest pain is the mess until you replace them.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
You can buy a reboot kit for them. That way you avoid blowing it up for a bit and there is no mess in the wheel well.

Thats what it looks like I just might have to do.

True. Looks like a shit ton of a mess, that I dont want to make in someone elses garage or driveway. Might just have to wait a little while until it needs it and just swap out the shaft. I've done tons of axles before, never attempted to rebuild/re-boot them.
