Didn't realize 4x4 uses that much more gas compared to prerunner. ~20% more. I was expecting a decrease in gas mileage but not that much.

400 miles? From full to gas light it's about 17.5 gallons and i go about 285 miles on 265/70/17 k02s. When I ran my stock tires it wasn't that much off rarely above 310 miles

Yeah, but the tank holds 21.1 gallons, so even when the light comes on, you still have a few gallons left in the tank.

Also, the way you drive has an impact on mpg. I used to do jackrabbit starts from a stop to accelerate ( i.e. Floor it), but when I stopped doing that, my mpg went up. Had to train myself to accelerate at a consistent rate. Bad habit from when I had my Wrangler since it was so weak with an I4 engine.

Not all 4x4s as you will see here if you research long enough. I used to average 16+ mpg. I think a lot has to do with the "fillers" they dilute our gasoline with here in California. Ethanol being the biggest culprit.

In Mexico (Pemex gasoline, with no added fillers), I get higher mileage with heavy loads and driving faster (17-18 mpg+) than here with a near empty truck driving the speed limit.

My mileage figures are also all REAL, not estimates by an onboard computer. I drive until most of my fuel is gone, fill up, divide the miles driven from the last fill up with gallons to fill.

    None, stock
I've found that doing 85-90 of straight highway for the whole tank will get around 340 (gas light on at that point. 2014 sr5 6 cyl 6 speed manual.

    340 miles
17 gallons (if you filled up right when the light comes on)
    = 20 MPG.

280 to what, the light coming on? (17 gallons used when light comes on):
    280/17=16.5 MPG

The best I've got is 323 miles to the tank and that's just the first time I checked what I got and that's with driving kinda sporadically and getting on the throttle.

What is a "tank" (when light comes on, on E, or did you run out, ie. a real tank)?
    Light On: 17 gallons
    E Line: 18 gallons
    Tank: 21 gallons

    Another 2010, yea!
I used to use Fuelly.com but that got old. Your Fuelly still says over 17 mpg...??

I think the 17 mpg was from when i had stock tires and no lift. I also have a UniChip which the previous owner claimed 25mpg with premium. I never saw that. I guess its still calculating. And yea, until the light comes on.

I dont drive that often. My 2010 has 45k miles on it. I bought it used with 35k miles.

Sorry, that's when my light came on. I'm not sure if that's a good amount of mpg but it seems better than some people are getting on here

Yeah 25mpg would be if you got out and pushed the truck in neutral. They best I ever got in my 2010 was 21 mpg with all highway driving with a strong wind at my back.

I once got 390 miles from a tank. It was 20mpg from CT to obx. 4 people plus gear under the soft topper. I have never even come close to that again. It was the first year I owned the truck.
I have gotten as low as 13 mpg in the winter but average about 15-16 regularly
