Media is saying Canucks have a shot at Stamkos. How the FUCK would this make any sense. If he didnt want to come to where he lived, he would have stayed in TB. Vancouver is in a shit show of a situation, like lottery pick the next few years territory. If anyone doesnt see this the have fan glasses on

He'll show up in Toronto if Shanny shows him just how big his carrot can be. Staying away from fans who scrutinize his bowel movements will require it.

 

The Leafs are further ahead in the rebuild for sure. I swear though the Canucks are in every trade rumor for every player this off season lol.

I expect Stamkos has several similar near max offers on the table. Lots of rumors that Buffalo offered 7 years at 12 million.

I just cant believe he is leaving TB. He has to know where he wants to go. They have everything except a coach he likes, and thats no reason to leave.....i wouldnt think. their 8.5 mil is close to 11 mil elsewhere without tax

 

If he leaves it does throw TB even farther into turmoil and, if I was the ownership, I'd start looking at the GM and coach. Which is sad.

 

Seems to me TB did pretty well at crunch time without Stamkos in the line up. I can see that mgmt might be hesitant to throw stupid money at the guy. Tough times though as a gm. Potentially damned if you do, Damned if you don't.

 

TB has been drama for a few year now. St Louis wanting out, Drouin throwing a hissy fit (though it looks like they kissed and made up), and now Stamkos looking elsewhere when it can't be about the money... Something wicked is going on there and it seems like good players want out. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Bishop.

 

Yzerman is fierce competitor from all accounts, as a player and GM. It seems to have worked for him so far. Like him or not.

I hear what you are saying about something being awry because choosing to leave TB has to be difficult.

 

For whatever it's worth I loved him as a player and he's clearly a talented GM. I just wonder if the front office and coaching staff is too intense for the players of this generation.

 

Perhaps, but I gotta say Jon Cooper seems super-likable, at least on the surface.

 

It has to be something. I doubt we will know for years though.

 

I just cant see him wanting to play anywhere else other than #1 TB, or #2 Leafs. TB is his best place I can fully admit it but if hes leaving I dont see why he would want to go anywhere else than Toronto. He grew up here, there have been rumors for years that he wants to play here someday and said so to past GMs. They have a world class coach and management. He can be a captain and #1 centre like he wants to be. Also the leafs have built a solid team now in under two years which should be a contending core for years if they get another dman or two. So much cap space just look at a mock lineup even with a few gas cans sitting there we still have 5-6 mil cap space and another 20+ next year coming
