Its really not. I would be curious if anyone from Rock Therapy has pictures of @NateMob and I on the crack at Poison Spider Mesa so you could see the difference in width on a relatively tight trail, and even beyond that you would be close to 2-2.5" narrower than I am. @Pelfreybilt might be able to help with this :D

Hmm.. So much to decide now haha @dakotasyota is saying he wished he went 3.5" versus his 2" kit too..
So with glass fenders do I retain the fender liner to cover my air intake? Or what did you do with yours?

No fiberglass fender will retain an inner fender liner unless you make one custom but you will realistically want to keep them open so you can stuff the fire up there. I would leave your intake as it is and build a screen or something to cover the opening. On mine I just deleted the pipe to the fender and just draw from inside the engine bay, probably not 100% ideal but i havent noticed any issues.

Gotcha, i've seen a few people do that and haven't heard of any problems. Do I have to run the 4" fenders like you? Or could I run the 2" glass fenders like @NateMob and be fine with the 3.5" kit? I know there isn't a difference in price but I prefer the look of 2".

I'm not entirely sure if that would work or not, but if the fenders have enough rise to them to fit the tire at bump you would probably be alright. I could and should be running a 6" fender so my tires at ride height are a couple inches outside the edge of the glass but don't rub at bump.

Ive been running the intake with just a small pipe in the engine bay with a nylon pantyhose over it to act as a bit of a filter for big crap. Havent had any problems and honestly never noticed a big temp difference that I could tell was from that and not just hills.

Since you want 35's. Glass would make it way easier to fit them anyways. And if you are going to get glass you might as well go 3.5. If you dont go glass...Id go 2.5.

Id also look into Chevy 63's in the rear too :) Thats the route I want to go. Course all my Tacoma mods went out the window and money is going towards the new FJ now lol

Yeah I don't know.. Probably get +2 kit because of glass.. If I run it up front I think it doesn't look right with stock fenders in the back, plus with properly valved coil overs it'll handle what I want in the go fast sections, not that there are many.. And the money I save in glass I could buy bypasses, but thats a whole other deal.
We'll see ill make my mind up this week.

I would love to see some of the million photos taken on Friday on poison spider.

I ran stock fenders with my 4.5bs F5s and my +2 LT kit for a while. And i still would be if the +2 Rise/Flare fenders were never released. All you have to do is remove 2-3" off the fenders and flares and you're golden. Glass isn't necessary with the +2 kit, can't speak for the 3.5 kits. I'm happy with my setup, i have actually kicked around the idea of stepping into the 3.5 Race kit just because, but the disparity level of capability from front to rear then would just be stupid. At the Colorado Toyota Jamboree last year i had a soft shoulder almost give out underneath my truck and i was all the way passenger i could go, that extra width would have turned that scary moment into a shit show with a complex recovery. Anyway, I already run a 1.25" spacer in the rear to get close to the same track width. I have no intention of ever going SUA or Link'd in the rear like Cliff so my current setup front and rear is a nice compromise of great capability from my front end and a decent setup for rear suspension.

The +3.5 kits look awesome but you cant really sport the sleeper or stock look with 3.5" extra each side. In my opinion it requires glass front and rear and a wider rear axle instead or massive spacers to match track width. Other than Cliff, the people saying the +2 kits aren't worth it are speaking blindly with no experience in the matter. I've ridden and wheeled with several +2 kits and the proof of their viability is in the capability of the rigs and the drivers.

Well my CB is dead, tested the harness and power is getting to the CB but it isn't turning on. Ordered a newer smaller one, should be here tomorrow.

And currently leaning back towards a +2 kit
    Reasons:
-I really don't want to run 4" fenders up front and stock rear, just not the look im going for and I want to keep my swing out HC bumper. I guess I could cut the rear glass but it wouldn't look clean like it does now.
-If I go 3.5" ill want to jump my truck a lot, which then leads to full cage, 3 point harnesses etc.. Basically opens another can of worms to put money into.
-If I properly tune the shocks ill still be able to romp on it in the go fast sections, and money I save in glass I can put towards bypasses if I want.
-Lastly it keeps me from dumping more money into the truck. I have other hobbies I want to fund and especially my future as I am really young. +2 kit still makes it a hell of a lot more capable than it is now and don't think Ill ever find something a 3.5" kit would get me through that a 2" kit wouldn't.

@tubbsisland what do you think? I know im not getting the most out of IFS but I think +2 is best for me...

Excited to see what you end up going with. I'm with you on the +2 after from what @Evenflow and a few others have stated in the LT thread and in here.

Everyone is going to have their own idea of what is perfect for them. While I dont care for the +2 kits others will swear by them, it all comes down to what you think suits your needs the best

Damn good day up at funny rocks and moon rocks! Took on some new lines now that I have lockers. Don't have any pics of me yet, and left my phone in my truck during it all.. But I will within a few days after my friends get back from camping.
Snapped these though. On the way to meet up with some friends..

    Pics from yesterday
Red first gen SAS'ed runner/showing the obstacle from below. After we went a cherokee on 33's tried it and broke his rear driveshaft

Then he went to the crack for redemption (flopped on it last year).

LC 80 on 40's. Those Jeeps in the background by my truck were just sitting in lawn chairs watching us.

    Lu on 35's

I made it up the easiest of everyone (currently getting the video) because of the wheelbase being a bit longer, after I got up we yelled over to the Jeeps for their turn to try it, literally was dead silent. They didn't want to try it haha few minutes later they all left.

    Then went to moon rocks

Group shot, they left to go run Lilly Pond. That was far out of my way so I exited right from moon rocks and took the mid summit trail down, took me exactly an hour to get aired up and back to Thorp.

I follow that 4Runner on Instagram, Washington wet wheelers or something like that. Seems like he built that up pretty good too.

Saw the video of you, how you like the lockers lol
