NTC stands for Northeast Toyota Crawlers. We are a smallish 4x4 club that is mostly in the New England/Northeast area. We run the takeover event as part of our schedule. Sometimes we invite people from here as well as other sites like Pirate 4x4 or Yota Tech as well.

Rausch may not require extiungisher a but it is a mandatory tool NTC requires you to have.
The same kinda safety measure why you have smoke detectors in your home.
I wouldn't want to watch anyone rig burn down because no one had an extiungisher.
We do have one vendor coming out and they will probly set up near our camping area which is right inside entrance to park. Also will have a few vendors there wheeling with us.
I believe four at this point

I mean this in the nicest way possible, no disrespect, I actually believe you should have one. Although I understand it like this if you show up without one and want to join a ntc group you can't. But you can still show up and wheel without anextinguisher just not with the ntc guys. Like I said it's a bad idea though.

We would never turn someone away from the group, as a club it is a requirement. We all have them I even have two in my dd. All are welcome.
NTC has this requirement in place due to various range of rigs we have in the club.

Yeah for the $10 to $15 that you spend to be compliant with NTC's rule on this it really should not stop anyone from getting one. I do understand that there may be better one's than I have however if your shit's on fire IMHO it's better to have one than to let your shit burn to the ground. Or maybe not (depending on your insurance). At least if you have one then you have that option. Lol

Wow that's cool I didn't know that Rob

I remember seeing this pic on the Rausch Creek Face Book page a couple years ago and it was a motivator just to keep a fire extinguisher in the the truck to be safe because this could have happen to anyone. Something that could have been a smoldering and been prevented could turn into a something lot bigger and the fact it may take a while to get some help on the trail. I carry a marine fire extinguisher (b,c)I picked up from West Marine for $20.00.

We thought we were going to need our fire extinguishers the 1st time I went to Rausch. A guy in the group said over the CB that he smelt something burning and this was on a newish Tacoma. Everyone stopped immediately and some of us grabbed the fire extinguishers. Ended up being a shorted wire and he found it right away but hey, you never know.
