^yeah, those guys are shady as hell.

 

x3. They are super shady. I called them a few years ago to enquire about a bumper since they're in GA and I could save on shipping. They wanted my credit card info just to talk about prices. I was like, "uh......no."

Also, their reviews are terrible. Apparently their welding skills are pretty shitty

It's entirely too much money

 

No tourque, too heavy for a little truck with the tourque it's got, too many bugs, garbage transmission, it was made to meet EPA requirements so long term will be trash. Too many technology features (it's a truck people.) And that cost is passed on to you. If you want a new Toyota, get. A tundra...

 

Trans doesn't bother me, 6spd manual
seems to be better. If I wanted a full size I'd get a ram

 

And you'd be disappointed with dodge.... my dad has one and I've watched it fall apart in good hands. Sad really. The new Tacoma can't tow either.... the sticker says more, but without the tourque it'll be a dog

 

Where's @Rock lobster or @whippersnapper02 when you need them

 

My dad has a 3500, has 202k and so far only regular maintenance.
Uncle has one, other than getting some kinks worked out with 18k in damages wreck messed it up.
His father in law has a 2wd Ext cab Cummins with over 250k.

Says the guy with a 2nd gen that has the extra do dads. Atrac/trac, heated mirrors, electric 4wd actuators, etc.

@GreeGunc don't get one. Don't ever get the first year model of a new vehicle, generation, model, drivetrain etc. Let the other folks and Toyota get the bugs and kinks worked out. Not to mention, a good friend of mine is a master Toyota Tech in Athens and he said to absolutely not get one and that's enough for me. Said they're underpowered, that they're coming from the factory 0 miles with C/E lights on, and if they have to be worked on the whole front end has to come off per their tech manuals.

Bottom line: don't get one.

 

I probably should've mentioned it'll be a couple years. Gotta make it through a couple years in the army first

 

Annectdotal evidence my man! My dad has had his 4x4 extended cab Ram since '98, and aside from the AC going out, has run like a top for 18 years. I guess it helps that he has <100,000 miles on it.
