Yup, we will be offering aluminum for the weight conscience crowd, 3/16" steel for everyday trail use, and 1/4" for people that tend to leave live hand grenades under their truck.

Understandable. I am currently in southern California so I can relate with the traffic and the unreal population

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Unless you like freedom, offroading, or firearms.

I'm in the same tire boat, trying to decide. I love the 16" Offroad rims, but 265/75 in a C load is hard to find. Duratrac's are all that I can find that don't weigh 50+ lbs. Wish the KO2's came in a C.

BTW, I have MobTown sliders and they are the bomb!

You might add a Cali LED grill light. I have mine and the mounts, just too dumb and lazy to install it right now. Good luck w/your customization!

I gave up and went with ST Maxx 235/85's in E load. Pretty heavy, but there weren't many options that were light.

    Glad you like them.

You need to post pics and do a build thread.

Good to hear about the Mobtowns sliders. I've looked at the Duratracs as well and they get pretty good reviews. I'm also looking at the Cooper AT3s. I think they make one as well.

I'll check out the Cali grill light as well, thanks.

BTW, how hard were the sliders to install?

They are made to fit pretty tight with some easy adjustments. I, however, had them completely sprayed with Line-X, so it made it harder, but I got it done. Thing about MobTown, is they are so heavy duty and great to work with. Worth the price and effort IMO.

Took 2 of us about 2 1/2 hours taking our time. I would recommend painting them with VHT epoxy spray. If I had it to do over again, that's what I would have done because the Line-X made them weigh more and made it way harder to install. Also, mine are set at 0 degrees to be more a running board/slider hybrid with fill plates and no kick out. Here's the best thread for more info:

Ha, it would be a pretty sorry build thread. I'm always too busy building stuff for everyone else. I did just buy a nice used Softopper.

    Edit: Ninja edit.

Shhhh. Don't tell anyone. Let them think otherwise. There's already too many people here as it is. Same thing happened to Denver. I moved there 16 years ago and wondered why it hadn't blown up. Most of the country thinks Denver is neck deep in snow all winter, when in reality that city has pretty mild winters compared to the rest of the country. People finally figured it out though, along with the legalization of marijuana resulted in a giant influx of people after the already giant influx of texans and Californians several years prior.

State is busy closing up Johnson Valley right now. Just wait until they get their hand on every other off highway vehicle trail we have.

Duratracs are awesome, my last set on my Xterra ran for over 100K! Great snow/mud tire and relatively quiet, however get much louder when you hit about 70-80K on them.

I'be been looking at a lot of pictures of Tacos off roading, and I really don't see many with sliders. I wonder if I'm over thinking this. Several folks here have mentioned just putting better tires on it and calling it good. I'm starting to think that might be the best starting point and waiting on sliders, skids, etc until I see how off road I want to go. Of course, it only takes one time to wish I'd done it. While I like the idea of having sliders, I'm not crazy about bolting on another 120 lbs of weight to it.

Recovery gear and tires would probably get me through most anything I'm going to want to take a 30K vehicle through........at least until its a few years old.........
