It turns out i'm going camping at the slick rock trail head this weekend for a friends bachelar party. It's purely by chance that it's at that location.

Don't know if anyone would be interested, but I'm thinking about leaving mid-day Thursday and camping atop Corral Hollow. Probably would head in via Bear Valley.

If I'm honest, it's more or less a slightly difficult fire road. No need to air down or anything.

I'll know in the next week or so if I'm able to head out on Thursday.

There's a nice spot about 3 - 5 miles west of lake alpine called "Hell's Kitchen". Also called camp Wolfsboro, which is the boyscout camp next door. About 15 shades sites, and one nice spot along the Stainslaus. Really great place to camp and explore on foot. I've been going there for 23 years, and had my camping bachelor party there. Fishing, hiking, shooting, rock climbing, MTB, and the 25 foot waterfall jump. 3 mile trail down is easy. I've seen minivans down there. There's a lot more to do there compared to the sites on the corral hollow trail. The spots on the ridge are nice though. Great views.

It's a great place to hang out for a weekend.

View from the waterside campsite. The rapids are about a 3 minute walk downstream. Waterfall and swimming hole about 5 minutes past that. This was last September when wildfires kept a lot of people away.

View from one of the camp spots along the Corral Hollow trail a few years ago. Great view. Haven't camped there, but stopped for lunch a few times.

Hypothetically, if I was to drive up would I be able to camp without wheeling? Are camp sites accessible without getting crazy? I could use a camping/drinking/hiking trip. I'm a fucking top rated moral supporter.

I think we'll be camping on the other side closer to Lake Alpine. Right before the off camber granite wall. Last year @CalTacoma09 drove his trail limo without any skids into the campsite and left his truck for the wheeling day. Couple of tight turns and maybe a rock or two, but def nothing crazy. I'm sure you could ride with someone down the rest of the trail. Especially with beer!

Though hanging at the staircase obstacle like @Drtgrl ssid would be pretty fun too!
