oh yeah, for sure. what Meade is it?

I'm very happy with my Explore Scientific eyepieces. I have a 24mm 68° wide, and a 14, 8.8, 6.7, and 4.7mm 82° wides in my kit. These are effectively clones of the premium Televue Nagler and Panoptic eyepieces, at 1/2 the price. I've had a bunch of other low to mid priced eyepieces, and these blow them all away.

re: dark skies, I'm packing this weekend, and launching Tuesday at 4:30am for the Golden State Star Party... thats 4 nights under very dark skies in extreme northeastern california, on a cattle ranch near the tiny town of Adin, CA, on 299 about 100 miles northeast of Redding. This will be the 9th year I've gone, I think. Not only great skies with great people, but killer BBQ too, the ranchers fire up the grill and serve us dinners :) after GSSP, I'm driving to Black Rock Playa for a couple more nights under dark skies with my son and his rowdy crowd from Reno :)

Was out there Saturday with @tyfoon11 and @CalTacoma09. If you are entering from the access closest to Gerlach, stay close to the North West side as you head in. The playa is still pretty soft in places at that end. We got access near Sulphur, good conditions up that way.

I'm up in Lassen national park monthly. Grew up basically in the town just past it. It's amazingly beautiful and endless trails and sights to see. I'll be up there this weekend.

White, boxy, steel wheels, cold ice cream in the fridge, solar panels above it, and you can stand up inside.

    The ice cream truck too.

Kids park for a birthday party. I did go to the skate park after. It's been about a decade since I rode transition, or really used my short board. Good times. Injury free.

You need to give me a list of all the cool spots. We've been up there once on a daytrip and hiked the summit right in front of (west of (Lassen Peak), but it looks like there are lots of cool areas and good camping, which is what we really need.

I stopped in Adin a few years back and had the BEST strawberry milkshake at the Frosty/burger place in town. Normally in a small rural diner I would expect strawberry syrup or even Quik, but the cook reached into a big bowl of fresh berries, and started hulling and slicing them, and then tossing them in the blender, just for my shake. Tasted great on a typically hot summer day up there
