I use Kodiak to quit smoking.

Worked for a week or so, ran a 5k in 30 minutes!

Came back to work and couldn't live without that extra break that normal people don't get.

Good job! I quit about 20 days ago. It was weird, I was at home on mid tour leave and I scooped out the last bit off snuff outa my can of cope. I did not even get the urge to go buy a new can. I went the first three days and I did not have any urges to even smoke or dip, almost like I was perfectly ready to quit. Ive been back in Iraq about 15 days now and while I have had the urge to smoke and chew, the urge passed. It helps to exercise, eat healthy food and do a cleanse. They say the third day is the hardest....piece of cake.

    Used to smoke
    4 years
a pack of camel reds a day
    quit about a month ago

Now I just chew once in a while. Had my first cigarette last night, tasted like shit and didnt know how i liked it in the first place.
Someone told me I would get urges once in a while even after I quit, I dont regret quitting that habit.
Redman Chew, stuff tastes like raisins! :D

Shoulda quoted this the first time.

Used to be in the past when I quit smoking I would dip again, or quit dip then start smoking, or dip/smoke at the same time.

And yes smokers get extra breaks in many workplaces.

Smoked for 17 years and I quit in July of 09. I used Chantix for about 2 weeks and I am cured. My gf and most of my friends still smoke and it bothers the hell out of me because of the smell. You never realize how bad it is until you are the non-smoker. I also quit the coffee as well. I am saving about $200-250 a month now.

i quit like 2 or 3 months ago...cold turkey just said i was done. i did it one other time for 3 years and then i joined the Marine Corps. after boot camp it was all over:)
This time is for good though. i'm done with it.

Good luck on your mission! just think of something that is an incentive to quit every time you want one and quickly find an activity to occupy your mind and get you off the train of thought!

Quit last night. Left the rest of the pack, and my lighter at the party. I don't really smoke that much, and with it being 10 degrees outside, that'll help to.

I quit 9 years ago cold turkey. Time goes by fast. You have to think about the future you may later in life be denied health coverage because of smoking.

I quit in 2000 after 8 years fo smoking. At the end I was 2 packs of Malboro Reds. I used the patch and have never looked back. The patch was nice to give me my fix. I WANTED to quit which is the real battle.

I haven't smoked since Christmas Eve, cold turkey. I haven't killed a single person yet, thought about it, but haven't done it.

That's the key right there. It's tough to quit until you want to and you know you're ready to. Good luck to everyone who's trying to kick it!

I started smoking again a couple years ago when my dog got sick and died but I've wanted to quit for a while. A couple months back I started cutting back but didn't get serious until yesterday. I put the last one from my last pack out and told the wife I'm done. Now it's 22 hours later and I know I'm done.

Let's see.. I smoked from 03-05 - quit from 05-07 - smoked from 07 to 09 - Quit Jan of 09.. and been smoke free since.

Started smoking so I could get a smoke break at work...

Quit 1st time because I left for Basic Training.

Stated smoking second time so I had excuses to take breaks while i was in Iraq.

Quit this time because i didnt really like it the wife hated it and we were trying to have a baby.. and now that he is here, I wont do it again I want to be around for him

.. every once in a while when i drink enough I smoke one or two.. but i always wake up the next day not remembering that I did it.. but i sure as hell know i did bc I hate that morning after taste..

Also w/ you...quit SMOKING 4 years ago, yet still "gum the gum", which although is somewhat costly, I can breath better, etc...best of luck, and as stated above, don't freak if you slip...Inever thought I could do it, but it happened when I least expected.:)

Chantax even though you should be well aware of all of the crazy side effects did the trick for me after trying EVERYTHING for the past 2 years. I haven't smoked in 6 months nor do I really think about smoking cigs. Saves bookoos of money and health feels better. I did put on about 20lbs but oh well, I'm married ;-) New year resolution to loose a few of those elbows so hopefully life will be fully back together. Talk to anyone that has taken it thought and do a quick google search as there are some REALLY crazy chantx stories out there. It's not for everyone, but be mindful of if when you are taking it.
