Not sure if someone already posted this ...

Sitting at the dealer waiting on my 5k mile service. I asked them to check the AT fluid. They said there was a bulletin on it but he thought it only pertained to 4X4's but they'd check it anyway.

Is there a way we can get the bulletin number so when the Dealer claims there isn't one, we can have an actual reference number?

The reason is they don't really want the public involved ,the toyota dealer network plan is to only inform customers if involved.

makes sense if they actually contacted members or better yet actually state there's a problem. I myself have had no issues (knock on wood) but I purchased private party from another member on here and have contacted the dealership multiple times to add me to the listing but no luck stating "its already in the system..." well its not in the system under my name so how would they contact me...? they said "I would receive a letter" in which I responded how when they don't have my address or name in conjunction with the VIN?! just saying this should be open to the public to determine what is truly an issue and what things they may be missing... if they hide it then you know they truly don't care what the consumer issues are or how to correct it...

All this talk of Toyota acknowledging ATF issue, yet no confirmation/proof of Toyota acknowledging ATF issue. Lots of wishful thinking 'round these parts.

There is no TSB. Your service guy either made it up so you don't think it's his fault or he called his service representative who told him they knew it was common to be low on ATF fluid.

    There is no TSB

My truck was at the dealer today for low AT fluid. It was a quart low. Two service advisors both showed me a sheet from Toyota regarding the transmission fluid being low. I saw it with my own eyes. Apparently HQ e-mailed it to them around 12 noon today(EST) after they called regarding my truck specifically. I didn't think to ask for a copy of it. Whether it was an actual TSB, I do not know.

It wasn't a TSB. They could have downloaded it themselves if it were a TSB

To be honest...It was an official looking bulletin of sorts from Toyota. Maybe it hasn't made it to the official TSB status yet
It detailed the issue and how the dealer should remedy it. I used to work for a SeaDoo Jet ski dealer as a mechanic and then as parts manager, it looked a lot like a TSB if you asked me.

Did it provide the range of production dates for vehicles with this problem?
