hey folks. I just got some 5100s in for my '11. I've got some 884 coils that I was going to put in with them but I keep reading about all the bad things that come with lifting these trucks much at all. I've searched ALOT about this and really don't come up with any good pics of 5100s set at .85. I wanna do this install one time and not wish I had done something different. So I need to know the best thing for me to do. Do I do the 884s with the billies? Or do I just level it out with the .85 setting and call it done?

There's a lot of info here in answer to your question, and about 100 more that will inevitably flow from it Matt. Be patient, general fatigue begins to set in, but someone will respond who has done exactly what you are proposing.

Wont the 884's alone give you 2-2.25" of lift? What kind of lift are you after? I think the consensus is to run the 5100's at the lowest setting (+0) if you are adding springs that provide a lift.

Yeah they will give me the lift but I'm just talking myself out of doing the springs and just doing the 5100s @ .85. I don't wanna do ucas .

I'm just gonna do the springs with them... I'm gonna kick myself later on if I don't.

You wont need aftermarket UCAs with the 884s on a DC 4x4. You will likely want to install an AAL unless you want the front higher. If all you want to do is replace worn shocks and level the truck then use the stock coils with the 5100s at +0.85. Again, it's a matter of what your after, the two options will give different results.

I'm gonna do the springs with the 5100s. I know I'm gonna regret it if I don't.

My red truck when it was set at .85, my mechanic threw on TRD stock springs.

Only difference now is that I bumped it up another notch in the front and and did an AAL.

I didn't measure, I didnt think about it. My ride is nice. I will find a before, .85, and current pic. I did get slightly bigger tires which bumped it a tiny bit.

    I'm in the upstate too.

I just put 5100's on my 2011 at .85 lift. The truck rides better than it did with the stock shocks. I think it looks good now. I think the next setting would be too much and I didn't want it higher in the front. For what I was trying to accomplish I am happy. I haven't taken any after pics yet. A before pic would be in my profile.

I'm in Greenville, kinda towards TR. I eventually want to venture away from the city.

I understand that. I grew up 20 mins from anywhere, but now I live in town.

    It's different.

Do the 5100 set at 0 with the 884 coils. It will handle and ride better.

This may or may not help you...

885x coils and 5100 set to .85" in the front. Wheeler's 3-leaf AAL w/ overload in the rear.

Keep in mind ARB+VR10000 winch up front and campershell+gear in the rear.

    Tires are 235/85r16 (essentially a 32")
