You smoke the pads or just get up to speed and jam on the brakes a few times until they were spongy?

Weekend was pretty sweet. I helped Rick wire up his LED bed lights on Saturday morning and after seeing how simple they are, I'm considering a set too. Weeded the gardens and got the grass cut after he left. Yesterday took my girlfriend and our downhill bikes to meet up with a bunch of friends out in Charlemont for a day of lift-served mountain biking at Thunder Mountain Bike Park. Had an absolute blast, got home last night intact, but dirty and tired. Can't wait to do it again.

Depends on the pad. Usually its it's something like this:
Do 10 rapid 60mph-30 stops in a row. Let brakes completely cool. Than do 5 30mph-0 stops and let.brakes cool completely. Different mfrs have different procedures.

4 or 5 times at slow speed (20 mph to 5 mph) with light pedal pressure to warm them up then 1 time at higher speed (40-45 to 5 mph) at much higher pressure to bed them in

    They work great

Generally unless you do it they aren't. Dealer won't even do it unless you specifically all, and even then some won't

Mine came off pretty easy. I gave them a love tap with a rubber mallet and they came right off, no drama at all. I had to use the threaded hole to get the Tacoma ones off, not the case with the Ford but I'd say that's not normal. They usually require some sort of pressure to get them off. The threaded hole is the best way, it's really simple. I went easy on the pads initially but pretty much just went to business as usual. When I did the rears, I only did the pads and the next day went on a 400 mile trip to PA, then back towing a camper.

Ha! In my Rochester, NY days I had a 1969 Scout. I have a hard time believing the one pictured is an '82. I thought the body style had changed by then (Scout II) and production stopped in '80 or so. I'd believe a '62 with the wipers above the windshield.
Mine had a 266 V8, full top, in turquois. Sold it to a friend that had a farm in the North Country after I moved to Boston. His buddies called it a "corn-binder". The thing was a bear to park despite it's short size. No power steering. Loved it even though it drove like a Lodestar.

    No, that's not me....

You are right, it is a '62. Not sure why I thought it was an '82...
