Hey yall, sorry to crash into your forums, but I am looking for any good primitive camping sites for my wife and I. The first year we were together, we hit up the Colorado BDR, and had a blast. We are looking to do some light offroading, camping, and hiking in Maine in August. Although my truck is set up for crazy stuff, with just the single vehicle, I would rather not spend our anniversary road trip doing trail side repairs. She has mentioned Acadia National Park, but I am not familiar with the area and was hoping you could point me in the right direction! Im ok with anything from fire and logging roads, to moderate obstacles, but I would rather not re gouge my recently repaired driveshaft :)

Hey dude! Pretty cool that you guys road trip for your anniversary. Though Acadia NP is in Maine and not western mass, someone in here may have been, I personally have not. New England does have a lot to offer for what you're looking for though and You may want to cross post this in the NE thread being that there will be more residents in there. Good luck and happy travels!

You can check out the Carrabassett Valley area along with Sugarloaf, good hiking trails up there. It's about 15 miles south of my family's cabin in Maine

    Hey Ben, @Enders Taco
@Chux was just up there, so he may have some of the best Intel, and you were there last summer. I know the hiking is great and there are trails (hiking) just about everywhere. My favorite is Cadillac Mtn. There are tons of campgrounds we stayed at Blackwood's campground which is really nice , sites are secluded and primitive. If he's headed up there it might be a nice trip / trail ride to go seek out the steam engines out in the middle of the woods and another look see might be the downed bomber site. I'll see if I can dig up the thread on that.

Out if curiosity how long does the trail take to run? And are there other trails in the area to run? I'm contemplating a day trip out that sty next week just to get out and wheel/explore. Been to the spot in RI a ton of times and it'd be nice to see some different scenery/ trails.
