100% agree, like you can look at my truck and there's stuff that could have been nicer but it's my truck and I don't really care as much, but my work for other folks I put out the best work I can produce cause it's my reputation out there... Spot on

Mitered "bends" are crap in tubing structures, using a bender cuts down on overall fab time too...just sayin

Personally, If I wasn't using a bender I would have made the 90s using a notch instead of a miter, but Throw some corner gussets on the miter joints and it will be fine, don't let everyone scare you. Bends are not the absolute must when it comes to cages

It's true that it will be plenty strong for what you're doing.
However shock angle is still way off, it isn't very visually appealing, and 700$ is way high especially for a friend.

This needs redone man. Unless you add to it with another section over the axle. I don't see what you have even working and if you get those shocks mounted to the very inside ends of your cage it's going to be super weak. Put in a removable bar across the end of the cage unless that's in your plan already. Dunno, but looks real suspect.

For $700 I wouldn't want this on my truck. even from a 'friend' who may or may not know how to weld

To be fair it is obviously not done yet so for all we know there could be a lot more tubes & triangles going in and a ton of gussets etc and it could end up like a work of art. I agree that as is the skeleton seems really weird but it might be a good idea to wait to see the final product before tearing this guy a new one and making him feel bad about his truck.

The hub is in the Amazon box below. I used nrg also for quick release. Buy the pretty steering wheel you want for it. Don't get deep dish wheels. 350mm is good size for running a factory rack.

I found that once the stock wheel is removed its relatively easy to center a Sweet disconnect on the stock column and weld on their adapter. just make sure you go slow and keep the oiled bearing on the rack from catching fire :bananadead:

I got a knock off ebay special momo at home if you wanna bolt it up real quick to see how it feels as a reference position. Little too embarrassed to post up on TW a pic of my ghetto awesome steering wheel.

It looks fine on my truck since it is old. It's very comfortable, but the quality is a bit low. Nothing annoying. Material seems thick enough to last a while. Have no idea how they get away with the momo logo. I feel kinda bad for buying it. IMG_20160627_200732365.jpg

I don't have a horn or a airbag so I considered one. What hub do you run?
