What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Nick depends on condition. But $50-$100 is a good idea. I just sold mine got $60. Had a couple small dents. You can buy them brand new off eBay for $120-150 shipped. Glws

keep a spare set of tires and shocks to put on your truck when your suspension needs rebuilt?

 

I wouldn't be worried about tires with alignment being off for a week or two. Youd some serious lean going on tho

Meh. If it was trimmed properly it shouldnt rub. And really how often do you think they'll need rebuilding for this to be a serious issue???

 

I'd Just say if you're gonna send them off to be rebuilt plan it to happen during a vacation or something. The longest part would be shipping, local would be nothing

 

Rebuildables aren't worth it to me because 1) I couldn't give two shits about adjustability 2) they rust incredibly fast here 3) the ride of OME is perfectly suited for a truck 4) I don't have to figure out a way for my only form of transportation to be drivable for a week while its suspension is being rebuilt.

But, I don't have TW cred for having coilovers. Don't give a shit either.

Got a P0171 code last night which is Bank 1 too lean. The hose that runs between the plenum and the evap stuff had split open. Clipped the end of the hose and reattached. Be nice if every fix was this easy.

 

I never planned on A Ls swap, and I have enough money for my rear suspension. Just don't know

 

Pretacomas are only good if you're planning on doing a SAS because it's the same frame as the early 80s that came with a solid axle from the factory.

So if you're going to do that and want a huge project full of problems, go for it. Otherwise I'd pass.
