Your write up on the intermittent wiper and cruise mods was outstanding. Just did both in less than half an hour tonite. If you don't have these options and want them, read the posts and do it! Thanks again for the write up, made it a painless mod.

You don't have to disconnect the air bag cause you remove the 2 screws that hold it in place and you don't have to unplug it cause the wires are long enough to lean it forward to get in there to do what you got to do!

I have a SR 16. Do you have to drill a hole into the steering panel if you there isn't a cover plate located in the cruise control space?

Nope you buy a new cover plate with a hole made in it for the cruise!

    Coverplate #: 45186-04030-B0
The cover plate comes with the 2 screws you need to attach the cruise control switch to the steering wheel!

Follow his advice. I followed his thread and worked great, plug n play. Wished I had done it sooner.

Looking on eBay it's says some Tacoma's may not be prewired. How are you able to tell? I don't want to buy the wrong kit.

Your SR should be pre-wired. If you want to check and make sure it is, follow my first 3 steps and remove the air bag with a T30 and see if you have the blank plug where you plug the cruise control into!

They are metric screws, the are the same screws found on the ones that hold your steering wheel control plastic pieces on. You can get them at advance or autozone!
