Yeah that was the first time I had tried it. Really good though, I will def be back there. I just got the approval from my wife to do a lift on my truck. Pretty excited. I think I am going to go 885's and Dakar with the OME Shocks. I like your Icon's though, just dont know if I would get the use out of them to justify the price. What do you have in the rear?

Dude that is awesome. Congrats! I was really really conflicted on whether to do a full OME setup or go with ICON. Decided to go with the Icon mainly because I didn't want to feel like I wanted to upgrade in the future. I have Dakars in the rear as well. However given that Im battling some driveline vibrations now I feel like there may be some issues with "bolt on compatability" of the ICON fronts and Dakar rears. When I hit like 60 MPH my steering wheel has a slight shake... and I'm pretty OCD so it bothers the living sh*t out of me. I would imagine that if I got a full OME setup, I wouldn't have vibrations since all the parts are made to work together and they provide specific spacers for the changes to the angles of the driveshaft.

So I don't think you can go wrong with the OMEs, in my opinion. If I were to do it over again, I might do the same.

Yeah I'm trying to decide if i want 884s or 885s. I'm concerned the 885s may give me too much lift, I'd like to keep it around 2"-2.25". I may end up taking a leaf out of the Dakar pack as well as I would go nuts if I had driveline vibration. I really dont want to screw up my new truck. Trying to do it right.

We went to Granite Falls and Wicked Weed, the rest of the time we spent fishing on the French Broad and the normal bachelor party debauchery :) If you ever get the chance though, try Fonta Flora in Morganton. Only about 15 minutes out of the way if you are hitting Asheville and its probably the best brewery on the east coast.

Hey guys, I am putting my OME lift on tonight/tomorrow and was wondering if you had any recommendations on places to get alignment? Right now I am thinking 4 Wheel Parts on South. Suggestions?

Thats where I went, they dialed it in almost perfect. It may cost a little more than the average shop, but I wouldn't take it anywhere else for alignments, especially if you have aftermarket UCAs.

Ok cool. I dont have new UCAs but I'm only doing 884s with a V6 4x4 so hopefully can get it in without issues. Fingers crossed.

Hey man if you are close to uptown, Tread Quarters on 7th (Monroe) is a good place. 4 wheel parts has like a 2 week wait-list and they are hella-expensive. Don't want to go against @ensaladas 's recommendation though. I haven't been to 4 wheel parts before. Although I do have an appointment there tomorrow for what they call a "shake down." Basically for $120 they are going to check my work on installing my lift :) I figured its a good insurance policy to have in case I royally screwed something up and don't know.

Awesome, I will check it them out! I certainly dont have two weeks to wait on an alignment. I wouldnt have much tire left by then. Thanks for the tip!

I didn't even know they did that!? Thats pretty cool. I'm pretty confident that @ajohnson and I didn't miss anything during install, but good to know nonetheless. I hadn't heard of Tread Quarters before, i'll have to check it out sometime. I had to wait about a week or so with 4wp as well, but since I ride the train to work every day, it wasn't much of an issue.

$120 to have them check your work is a waste, no offense. You know exactly what you did, just go back over it and retorque all the bolts yourself. That said, I paid 4wp a lot of money to do my alignment, but I watched the tech do it and he knew what he was doing and got it perfect in 20 minutes. I drove to 5 different shops that literally had no fucking clue how to align a vehicle and I gave up. If anyone knows a local old school alignment dude that TRULY knows what they're doing, please let us know
