Today I dropped it off at my dealership, told them about all the horrible nightmarish crap I'm hearing about happening with new Tacomas, and said I bought a brand new truck with a bunch of extras on it that I probably didn't need, and a top of the line warrantee. Probably because I distract easily, like shiny things, and make poor life decisions, but I still want to make sure my new pretty expensive truck worked as advertised.

Guys in their repair / mechanic shop said they totally understood, and have already done similar checks for other new tacomas. They actually gave me a loner truck that was the exact same as mine, 2016 DCLB OR!

Here's the list I gave them:

    -ATF level check
-Driveshaft U-joints greased, as well as all other zerk points checked
-Tighten leaf spring U-Bolts ( pretty sure they're ok since already did suspension work for me but just in case)
    -Diff fluid level check
-Hood ribs re-sealed/bonded to hood (just noticed this last weekend that this is happening, wish I could find someone to hood swap with after they fix this!)

Also, some people on here have mentioned issues with trip info randomly resetting. I've had this happen twice, and both times it's happened, my map settings change back to default where it displays "upcoming exits" on the right and the compass to "always north" mode. I know they're not going to be able to fix this and it'll likely be a matter of waiting until Toyota pushes a firmware and software update, but they're still going to look into it.

I think I've actually gotten really lucky with these guys. They're rated with one of if not the best customer service marks in all of WA, and I know they're supposed to be really high for all of the west coast. They also have a parts department that hasn't ripped me off, and give me great prices, even telling me when / where I should go get something more affordable through competition!

All that being said, I still randomly painted a few zerks along with the ATF bolt. I've had no reason not to trust these guys, and hopefully when I get it back, that stays the same. Just too many horror stories on here though to take the chance!

I remember about 2 months ago I was on a thread where someone took there 3rd gen in for service and requested to have the (ding, ding, ding,)silenced after the engine turns off, along with having the 1/2 blinker click from the standard (3 blinks) to 6 I think. Wondering if it is all software controlled since that is some fine tuning for options to be changed.

Really wish I could find the thread. :annoyed:

    I installed some dirt.

Afterwards I got home and installed some OPT7 FluxBeam LEDs in the low, high, and fogs. I think the fogs are a lot too bright for the amount of up-top-scatter they produce (which will also make them somewhat less effective in fog, should I ever encounter some of that mysterious stuff in az).

    Lows Comparison:

    Highs Comparison:

    Lows plus Fogs Comparison:

    Fogs plus Parking Comparison:

And then... got some reflective rear "tacoma" vinyl (black in daytime, silvery when reflecting directed light), white for doorsill and glovebox tacomas.

And THEN... well, actually, that's it. :/

sorry if you've addressed this elsewhere, but which model bed extender is that, and does it interfere with the Revolver X2 at all?

How are you liking the LED's? I have been doing a ton of research on them but yet to pull the trigger.

Lows are good. Highs are good. Fogs are... Not great. I'm going to try adjusting them tonight, but they might be going back. Also, the connectors don't click into the latches on the factory wiring harnesses, as their tabs are too wide, so I'm not sure if I can trust them long term.

Seems to be consistant with what I have read. I think I might get those lower powered fog bulbs by opt7. Did you get the h11 for the highs as well?

I turned off all the beeping I could but am surprised at how much needless beeping remains. I gotta be able to get in and out of the truck with the engine running without it beeping at me, and I think the door sensor is the only thing preventing that. Let's bypass this and see what happens!
