    On the other hand, it's ridiculously simple to work on this truck once you get the parts freed up.

    Well, if at first you don't succeed... Not sure what failed but it got a free meal. Licked all the peanut butter off the top of the cup. Ramp might have been too close, cup might not spin freely enough or it's bigger than I thought. I've moved the ramp back and will lower the cup deeper into the bucket. It spins pretty easily but I may try something else - maybe a 2" piece of PVC.

    The war rages on.

    If the water's deep enough for them to touch bottom, they can jump out. Water needs to be deep enough that they have to swim.
    Still a lousy way to go, though. I much prefer snap traps for that quick kill.

    I dunno about mice but for chipmunks and squirrels ditch the cup all together, and cover the surface of the water with sunflower seeds so it looks like its solid. They jump onto a "suspected" piles of seeds and are gone.
