There was one corner that was not powdercoated.

Yeah if you click on something thats sold on Amazon it will show up as a recently viewed item next time your wife/gf logs on. Been there.

 

Mob- would you say a fabricator/welder could blast some of that powdercoat on the back side and reinforce some of the key welds? Or does that end up being a PITA?

I'm using this glorious segment of wordsmithing at work tomorrow!

 

All he would need to do scrape some off on the back side to check the penetration and if it's good just throw some paint back over it.

The real question is, how many flaws or other irregularities are you willing to accept for that price point?

I'd say, slam each bumper into a tree at 50 mph.

You know, since we are dissecting a $600 bumper that is going to see some major action in the middle east, or a crash 'em up derby.

Even with the spot welds, this will hold up better than anything at the mall...

 

They would only need to scrap the opposite side away to see about penetration, but if after the bumper was welded, if it was ground smooth and sand blasted before powder coat, all the discoloration of penetration will be gone. So it is a huge chance of doing this. And good powder coat company sand blast the parts first.
