If it means anything sliders are the first bolt on addition to my Tacoma. I've had rocker damage on my last truck, not from rocks but from logs and branches. One big log can smash a cheap tube step. My friend rolled over a metal t fence post laying in the grass and whacked his rocker and door.

Sliders can help avoid a lot of obstacles that can flip up and whack your truck.

Those were my thoughts exactly. It just seems they could keep a lot of bad things from happening to your truck. I think the ll go ahead and order them this week. I'll worry about other upgrades later.

Any other suggestions as to next steps after sliders?

Do you have tubs or anything in the bed to store your recovery gear? I know you have a tonneau but what about either a below rail tool box or bed divider to keep things from sliding around?

I put a Toyota bed mat in it and man is it tackie. Nothing moves around, but yes, I have plastic tubs to carry my recovery gear.

Other than an attachement for a D ring to the trailer hitch I can't think of anything else that's required.

Unless you plan to build a rock crawler everything else is just added weight to kill gas mileage. Truck is pretty capable right out of the box.

Thanks. I thought about a 20 lb front skid plate but that would be the same not other thing adding weight. Now, which tires..... :)

I might be interested in purchasing those steps from you. Let me know if you do end up replacing them with sliders.

You need to also get the front bed tie down rail from the 2nd gen since they left that off the 3rd gen.

I'm in your boat OP. Don't necessarily want a lift either. Been looking HARD at that Prinsu roof rack though...
