    I usually schedule myself 3 days in a row (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). When I get home Monday morning I shower and usually stay awake until early evening then back to regular schedule with the family. What throws me off is having a day off between shifts.

    I've dodged it the last 3 years but so far I've worked Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter and now the 4th this year! I was off Memorial day though. Christmas and Thanksgiving worked out though because all the family diners fell on a different day. I'm off Thursday-Sunday night though so that's plenty of time for activities.
