    Agreed, but we're buddies cause we're always at CFA. I even dated one of their daughters.. Long story behind that though:poking: But her dad still likes me so we good.

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg The Kia felt cooler to park next to the big boy trucks. helped my buddy in the DCLB do the anytime fog mod and added free horsepower by removing the wool blanket they call a filter in the intake. It's basically rivited into the plastic. nothing a flat head screw driver cant change. Why would toyota do that? And of course discussed what we wanna do to our trucks next... Needless to say it was a very long list.

    @kiahb12

    I noticed a pretty good difference on removing that filter. I swear the butt dyno graph says I need less right foot on the lower rpm end to get the truck moving. Nobody has reported any real gains from it and I didn't do any before/after mpg testing but it sure didn't hurt any :)

    Haha yeah man I feel ya. I ain't done any mpg mileage testing but I'm figuring I get like 17/18ish. Depending on where I'm going or what I'm doing. I don't think taco as have ever been good on fuel. Unless it's just me.

    Looks awesome Heather! I have always been crazy about the silver/machined La Paz wheels, never seen a set of any color on a Tacoma before yours. Nice build!

    Thanks! It's not exactly a common wheel either, and I love the almost-but-not-quite-fully blacked out look. Practically nobody around here has the machined/black combo wheels, as far as I've noticed anyway!

    I drove almost 1,200 miles lasr week, stock V6, 4x4, automatic, stock tires 245/75/16, and I averaged 20.6 mpg.

    I can't complain to much. Yeah the treads junk but even as bad as they are it still did incredible off road. I was hitting some pretty rough trails with a jeep group and the rubicon with brand new Cooper st maxx's was spinning more than I was. Not sure if it was the tires or driver, when I comes to trails and climbing I'm pretty inexperienced and I did just fine with crap tires. Oh well. Definitely getting new tires before this winter.

    Looks good,do you notice any corrosion in around the cut out?
    I have a chrome bumper and was hesitant to do this mod ,I'm afraid its gonna show rust with time...
    Did you protect it under the light ? what and how(tool) have you cut thru the chrome/steal ?

    I'm no expert but that bumper looked like it had some pretty good welds on it

    Had to remove one of the little chrome caps on my lug that was stripped. I scratched the rim in 2 places :/

    I have a decent amount of mpg info. Maybe I'll pull mine after the next fill up and track any changes.

    I used a 4" grinder and a die grinder to cut the holes. I live in the desert so I'm not at all concerned about rust. In Quebec rust woukd be a concern for sure.

    i am actually replacing my winch switch, this one was cheap so i couldnt resist. It is extremely high quality and I will admit a bit overkill for my application. Funny you bring up the 3 selector version. I do have that on my trailer for my battery system. Havent considered it for the truck yet, engine compartment needs some rearrangement before that project surfaces down the road.
